Customer Review: The Perfect Portable Speakes For My HP Notebook
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a network marketing business which requires making presentations/trainings all over southern California, etc. Before getting the HP Mini 1151 NR, it was cumbersome with my laptop & the support information used to promote my business /products... ...thus the much smaller/lighter/faster(no Word, Excel, etc.) notebook which is to primarily view DVD's & quickly get online. Big Problem: The built-in speakers on the HP were woefully inadequate, especially in coffee houses, restaurants or any noisy/busy location. AC powered speakers presented obvious problems re. outlets, extension cords & were totally useless in parks, the beach or anywhere outdoors.

After paging through the reviews, I finally found a notebook user/review of the Logitech V20's vs. the previous laptop users. Given HP's limited USB ports, I also purchased a Belkin mini hub to power my HP wireless mouse.

It's such a cool set-up because the HP (open) & the V20 speakers (the same height) plus the Targus DVD player all fit on top of my briefcase. But most importantly, the sound is excellent, loud enough in any environment & no need for any AC power. And the HP & V20's fit nicely in my messenger bag. Very nice job Logitech!!!

Customer Review: These speakers are really worth the money
Summary: 5 Stars

I inititally went out and got the Bose Companion 2 series II for my laptop that had seriously underpowered, embarassing speakers. But the sound came out as boomy and though the speakers did sound good I wasnt that impressed. They are slightly bigger than your average computer speakers as well so not that portable. Went back to Bestbuy returned them and got these. When I took the V20 out of the box I thought I had made a grave mistake. I thought that these looked too small to produce any decent sound, but then I plugged them in ........and what can I say except - THEY ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

The volume that these speakers generate is amazing considering the size. They are seriously powerful!. The sound comes across very crisp and clear and being USB, they pick up the complete digital signal. Make sure that your MP3 files are lossless and you are gifted with very crisp audio.

They do distort and sound awful at higher volumes but the mid range -arnd 40% - 80% volume is when they are at their best. The bass is not thumpy but present and gives the punch as required. All notes low and high are delivered faithfully. All in all - THESE ARE AN AMAZING SET OF SPEAKERS and I just love them.

Customer Review: The best set of portable speakers out there.
Summary: 5 Stars

After spending a long time on a desktop with a top of the line sound system (audigy 2ZS sound card and klipsch speakers), I was spoiled. And when I got myself a laptop, I was utterly horrified by the wimpy sound coming from it's speakers. I picked these up, and am suddenly spoiled again.

Although the sound is not quite on the same level as my old desktop, it's still a lot better than your typical desktop setup. These little guys can fill a small/mid-sized room with their sound fairly easily, and while there is no subwoofer, the sound is still relatively deep and rich. They're extremely easy to setup (just plug them into the nearest available USB port), and are much more portable than speakers of this quality have any right to be. They come packed in a very nice zip-up case which does the job of protecting them while in transit, and will fit easily into most backpacks or laptop bags.

As good as they are, though, they're not perfect. Sound starts to distort at around 80% of max volume (which is really really loud, by the way), and the pads on the bottom of the speakers aren't nearly "sticky" enough, as they like to "walk" across my desk when the base/volume gets turned up.

Customer Review: Wonderful notebook speakers!
Summary: 5 Stars

I did much research before deciding on this set of speakers for my notebook computer. I wanted something sturdy, compact, and with excellent sound quality. They met all my conditions and impressed me by being even nicer than I expected for the price. They are really top quality speakers! The carrying case is well made and will easily fit into most laptop carry bags along with the power cord and wireless mouse many folks want to fit in their bags. From the time I take unzip my carry bag, I can have everything up and running in less than five minutes. Someone else had commentsd that the speakers had a very weak mesh on the front. Perhaps they did not have this set of speakers because these have a metal mesh that is very durable and would take some bad sort of accident to puncture. Sound quality is very good as is volume. I read in another review that the sound quality was poor above 80%. Mine would drive me out of the room at 80% so I have not been able to test that statement out. One other thing I really like about these speakers is that they do not require to be connected to power. They just run off the USB port. For the price of these speakers, I doubt you will find anything nicer.

Customer Review: Perfect laptop Speakers for Presentations
Summary: 5 Stars

A unique product that does what is was designed for very very well. Most laptops have horrible sound, no bass, easily distorted, and insufficient volume.

There are tons of portable speaker choices that require batteries or an AC power supply, but as someone who makes frequent sales and training presentations always worry if my batteries will die or if I will forget the adapter or can find an outlet close by. When setting up for a presentation I want everything to work with as little hassle as possible. Why worry about your speakers?

These work with no external power, and the bare minimum of wires for quick set up. The included case is very tough. The speakers are not tiny, but are very light weight.

The sound, Outstanding for voices, dialog, sound effects, pretty good for music too. Plenty of undistorted volume for a good size classroom or conference room. The controls for volume/mute/pause are right on the speakers so their is no hunting for keyboard shortcuts during your presentation. These are the perfect companion for folks who use portable projectors.

Highly recommended for those who have the need.
