Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech USB Desktop Microphone (Black/Silver)Customer Review: Better than it looks Summary: 5 Stars
This microphone is perfect for Skype, Ventrilo, or any kind of voice recording. It requires only two steps to use- plug in, and turn on. It is durable, and has in fact survived many long plane flights shoves into my back pack, and has worked without fail for four years now. The sound quality is great, especially for something so small and inexpensive, though if you're looking to record music or multiple voices there are better options. Even if you're just skyping with your friends, though, it's a vast improvement over any laptop's internal microphone. Has an extremely long cord, if you're going to try to use it with a desktop computer.
Customer Review: Great noise-cancelling clear mic Summary: 5 Stars
I had to turn the sensitivity to max, but this mic picks up clearly 20 inches away. I even have a loud fan in my room; I was impressed it was able to filter that out. I found it great for Skype and gaming. It sounds as good as any of the 4 other headsets/mics I've bought.
My only complaint is minor, the LEDs are kind of annoying. I'd rather have a physical switch than another thing on my desk that's glowing.
(edit) I have since stopped using this mic for gaming. I have a normal keyboard but if I transmit voice while pressing keys it sounds incredibly loud, so I'm switching back to a boom mic on a headset.
Customer Review: Works fine Summary: 5 Stars
I use this over the built-in mic in my laptop. The built-in mic had terrible static and people couldn't hear me well at all. I had to basically yell.
This mic's noise canceling isn't impressive, but it's fairly sensitive and I can just talk normally and it'll transmit clearly. Great for VOIP, Ventrilo, and chatting to teammates in online games.
I have no complaints and don't regret buying it. Just mind the number of USB ports you have left and feel free to plug this into a "shady" port such as hub or another accessory that provides more USB ports as it works well in 1.x as well as a 2.0 port.
Customer Review: Great Microphone for the price! Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best product I've purchased in a while. It looks great on my desk and the adjustable angle of the microphone is awesome. It works perfectly with Rosetta Stone, which is why I bought it. With my old microphone I used to have to repeat myself until Rosetta Stone finally got what I was saying, but with this microphone my voice is crystal clear and I never have to repeat myself, unless of course I'm saying it wrong. Anyway, I would recommend this microphone to anyone looking for a great microphone for Skype, Rosetta Stone, gaming, anything really. It's hard to beat this quality:cost ratio!
Customer Review: Great Microphone Summary: 5 Stars
I had a lapel mike that was on its last legs and fading fast. I had to shout into it to record an even weak signal. This Logitech mike is an incredible improvement. It's sensitivity is great. I had to turn the volume control on my sound card down to the half setting to keep the recording volume low enough to avoid clipping. Even then the mike is about two feet from my mouth and I speak in a conversational tone of voice. The recorded sound is good quality, with no spikes for the hard consonant sounds, like p's and t's. I use it only for voice, not music. A terrific buy for the price.
