Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech USB Desktop Microphone (Black/Silver)Customer Review: Logitech USB Desktop Microphone Summary: 5 Stars
Several reviews stated that this mic didnt work with Windows Vista. Its important to make sure Windows is fully updated before installation of the mic. I did that and the mic installed & works perfectly. Be sure to read all the reviews. Do yourself a favor & research companies & prices since several companies offer this item & prices vary. Its unfortunate such inexpensive items require such pricey shipping charges. But they just dont offer these mics in stores. I havent had an opportunity to use this for recording but for voice chats it is sufficient. I purchased this mic brand new as a gift but would certainly buy another one for myself. Id avoid any refurbished items for future reference. I hope this helps.
Customer Review: Cheap and Awesome Microphone for Voice Actors/Singers! Summary: 5 Stars
I am a part time voice actor and I have to say that this is one of the greatest and cheapest microphones ever. My voice is very clear. It is also easy to set up. You literally just plug it in. However, your computer needs to have a USB port (It has this pitchfork shaped icon that has a square on one prong, a triangle on another, and a circle on the third.) Just so you should know, I have a Compaq laptop and I read somewhere that most new computers have USB ports. A word of warning, however. I live in a dorm, and when I voice act and someone walks pass my room and speaks very loudly, I can faintly hear their voice. Other than that, this is a FANTASTIC buy and a must have for aspiring voice actors and singers.
Customer Review: I Love Anything That Does What It Promises Summary: 5 Stars
Not a lot to say because it just works perfectly. You plug it up, you may have to go into your Control Panel and make it the default microphone depending on your computer, but for most of us you plug it in and it works right off the bat no problems. I read a few reviews that are trying to compare it to a recording mic it would seem. This is a mic for voice and communication and it is fantastic at that, good volume, great range (means you don't have to talk directly into the mic) and normal conversations are reproduced perfectly. I use it mostly for gaming communication but it would work equally well at any other voice application, if you want to sing you gonna have to spend more than $20 folks :) Enjoy
Customer Review: Well worth the price Summary: 5 Stars
I was in the market for a microphone that did not use the microphone jack on my Mac which is inconveniently located on the back of the machine (which I have stowed in an alcove.) With 2 USB ports on the front of the machine, this item fit the bill.
It was easy to setup right out of the package--for my OS, no driver/software needed to install to have it work with my system.
Additionally, the large, green power light on the base makes it easy to turn on/off and see if it is functioning. The base gives the microphone a good stability. As it sits on the desk, the microphone wand can be tilted forward for better pickup.
I'm thinking of a second one for my other machine.
Customer Review: Just plug it in, and this microphone works! Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great product. Just plug this microphone into a USB port on Windows XP. It automatically installs itself in 10 seconds, and you are done. All your sound applications suddenly see the microphone, and there's nothing left to do. The drivers for it come with Windows XP already, so you don't need to install a drivers disk or anything. It doesn't even come with a CD-ROM, because it doesn't need one, and the "user manual" is about 1 page long, and I never even looked at it. The microphone works great, too, and it's very inexpensive.
I love products like this: Inexpensive, works great, no user manual needed, installs itself in seconds, no driver CD-ROM needed. It just works.
