Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech S220 2.1 Speaker System with Subwoofer

Customer Review: Fantastic deal!
Summary: 5 Stars

I first bought a set for my husband for Christmas. I was worried as it was a 2.1 intended for his desktop and wouldn't be adequate for his desires. Upon receiving it, we set it up upstairs to test it out. Exceptionally easy to set up and functions are pretty basic but modern enough. I plugged my ipod into it and was 'blown away' by the sound. for a 2.1 sound set up, it is incredible! The base is awesome, and the two little speakers by themselves are very deceptive as they put out alot more than anticipated. I finally allowed him to take them downstairs after demonstrating the system to my friend, and both she and I purchased one (so a total of 3 purchases) due to the impression it left. Don't let the price deceive you nor the size. This product is incredible! Logitech did a great job on this speaker set. I now use these speakers over my 1 year old 5.1 speaker system for my music. ABSOLUTELY worth the price, in fact, it's dang near a steal. Obviously, I recommend buying it. :)

Customer Review: Great for adding sound to small monitors
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this to complement the ViewSonic VX2433wm 24-inch WideScreen LCD Monitor I just purchased. I use that monitor for my PS3 and 360 games. Monitor was great, but the sound was awful (I used headphones so it wasn't too bad). I decided to get this for the rare occasion no one is home and I can play games without my headphones. I figured I couldn't go wrong for $25.

I was right. This is perfect for my situation. I don't blast the volume or play music with it, but the games sound great. Just enough bass to give you depth (you're not gonna feel any "boom" from this system).

Best $25 purchase I've made in a long time.

To sum it up:

Great for console gaming on a small tv played at a reasonable volume.
Doubt it would be any good for playing music at a loud level (frankly, if you are expecting this for $25, you're crazy).

Customer Review: Great Speakers
Summary: 5 Stars

These little speakers are great. I am pretty picky on speakers and I am plenty happy with these. The system doesn't have a ton of bass; I didn't expect them to shake the walls nor would I want them to. Just good sounding speakers with a decent amount of bass to play music while I work on the computer.

My only complaint would be longer wires, but only because my desk is a large and heavy old desk. There are no areas I can run wires through my desk (until I drill a hole this coming week). The longer wires would help in my situation, though most people probably have a desk with some sort of hole to run the wires through so it isn't an issue. Not going to let that affect my rating of these.

Oh and I really like the volume 'puck' that sits on the desk to adjust volume. My old speakers had the volume knob on the speakers themselves and it was kind of annoying. I love the puck as I can run it closer to my keyboard and can adjust the volume effortlessly.

Customer Review: Unbeatable For The Money
Summary: 5 Stars

Okay, so it's not Bose but at around 1/5 the price is sure isn't 5 times a bad. In fact, considering the price, I don't know how it could be much better. It replaces the speakers built into my LCD monitor which are pretty grim so there may be a little bias but, seriously it sounds very good, clear and with plenty of volume.

The control pod, which includes the volume control, power switch, mic and headphone jacks, is a nice feature. I used some self-stick velcro to hold it in place as it's small & light and doesn't want to stay in place on it's own. The two small speakers are quite stylish. The bass speaker looks like the box it shipped in ... what can I say ... but at least you can tuck it away out of sight.

My only negative is that in using the power switch you invariably jog the volume control, which is the entire domed top of the pod. Be ready to make a quick grab for the volume after you turn it on!

Over all, thumbs up!

Customer Review: Financial Advisor says yes!
Summary: 5 Stars

It took me a while to decide what speakers to go with, and to make this review short, I am really glad I went with these. Before this, I had the standard speakers that come with any Dell. I can't tell you how much better these are than those! I would guess the small speakers are better than the old Dell ones, plus this has a sub, which I think does a really good job. It gives out nice, deep bass without any crackling or anything like that. There is a knob on the back (which is a little chinsy) so you can adjust the bass level. I usually keep it in the middle and there is plenty of bass available.
If you are wondering what that weird round thing is in the picture, it's actually for volume control. That way you don't have to reach all the way to the speaker or adjust the volume in your toolbar. Pretty nifty. It even has a mic and headphone jack!
Overall, this product is easily worth the price. Even if this system broke after a year, I would buy another one!
