Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech S220 2.1 Speaker System with SubwooferCustomer Review: Really good sound!! Easy to set up. A bargain!! Summary: 5 Stars
I searched for hours on the web, looking for something that sounded adequate, but didn't cost too much. These fit the bill perfectly. My Realtek control panel has a "ten" band EQ, so I can tailor the sound pretty well. I had the Creative T20's prior to these and the S220's sound like they can get so much louder. One thing I wanted in the volume knob, was to be able to have an independent power switch. I want to set the volume once with the dial and turn the power On/Off with the little switch, and control the computer volume with a MCE or Snapstream remote. The S220's fit the bill. The power LED is not overly bright. I like the thin Subwoofer, but don't let the thinness fool you, they can produce some strong bass. The satellites are nice, but I'll velcro them down as they can be knocked over easily. There's a reason why these are top sellers......namely the price/performance ratio.
Amazon shipped these so fast, I'm in shock because they originally stated 5 to 7 business days. I got them 2 days after placing the order, Wow!! It really depends upon how close their warehouse is to your address, among other things. So far this has been a great deal.
Customer Review: WOW! Exceeds Expectations Summary: 5 Stars
My initial purpose for purchasing an inexpensive set of speakers was to listen to my Sony Walkman out in the garage while working on the car & motorcycle. Frankly I was incredibly surprised at the rich sound produced by a bargain sound system and how much volume and bass you can get out of these things. In fact, I was so impressed with them that I purchased another set to use in the home with my LED HD TV. I wasn't looking for a home theater system either. Just a good amplified set of speakers and these fill the bill. Unfortunately, the Samsung TV doesn't have volume control for the auxillary sound output, so I have to use the manual volume provided by the speakers. I mainly use them for watching DVDs. What's nice is the speakers are small enough that they hide real nicely and the volume control can be tucked out of sight and still easy to get to. Your results may vary...I have a console unit that helps the sound resonate and provides hidden but open spaces for the system.
For the money, you can't beat these little gems. They darn near match the $150 Polk Audio system I have hooked up to my Dell PC.
Enjoy!
Customer Review: Love these speakers! Summary: 5 Stars
I am not an audiophile or anything (and if you are, why are you looking at a $20 pair of speakers?). But from the average user's perspective, these are amazing! Only $23, including shipping, so great for a college student.
Compared to laptop speakers, the sound quality will blow you out of the park! I've never used a sub-woofer before, but it really adds to the sound quality. They also look really nice, though the shiny black definitely picks up fingerprints. The speakers are rather light, so I took the advice of another reviewer and added a bit of sticky tack to their bottoms to anchor them to the desk. The only thing I would change about them is the volume control--I would rather have it on the actual speaker itself. But for $23, I'm not complaining.
They come with a three year warranty from Logitech, so I'm not worried about their longevity. Even if they die after 3 years, they would have cost me less than 10 bucks a year.
So if you are on a tight budget and looking to improve your computers sound, buy these! You won't regret it.
Customer Review: Couldn't be more satisfied... Summary: 5 Stars
I've only owned these for about a week and a half now, but I felt I needed to share my thoughts on these great little speakers. They were extremely easy to hook up. They aren't ungainly and actually don't make my desk look too cluttered, which is what I was afraid of.
I would have paid twice as much and still considered this a bargain. The bass is about as good as you can expect for the price. However, I was pleasantly surprised by how good these little suckers sound. I almost bought the set without the sub, but now I am glad that I didn't. I also really love the little power/volume control dial. It is a separate piece and is very convenient. I attached a piece of velcro to the back and stuck it on the side of my desk. That way you never have to reach around to fool with the volume or to power on and off the speakers. Very clever idea and just the icing on the cake. All things considered, you CANNOT and WILL NOT find a better set of speakers for anywhere near this price.
I couldn't be happier with this purchase!
Customer Review: Just what I needed... Summary: 5 Stars
Just what I needed for a new packaged computer system I bought a month ago. The only problem with my new computer was that even tho it has a BluRay player, there just wasnt enuf sound volume to adequately hear the words of a movie - even if only a few feet away. I am a retired senior citizen who has worked with computers for close to 30 years. I dont have a hearing problem, and have never liked music or other sound volume to be excessive. Dont need all that booming and deep bass. This speaker set only took about 5 min to attach; and I love it. Played a new BluRay movie, and even with volume set fairly low, it was great. I tucked the speakers behind the monitor and just kept the little round control gadget up next to the keyboard. That gadget turns the speaker off and on; adjusts the volume; and has a place to plug in earphones. Another reviewer had mentioned that the subwoofer went out after a week; that is a little worrisome. But mine is still working great; and again want to say this was just what I needed. Thanks, Amazon!
