I recently purchased a new computer system that did not come with speakers. I found these here at Amazon.com and thought for $12, what could hurt? So I plugged them in and tried them out with the new system. They work very, very well. The sound is great, and they don't take up much space at all on my desktop. In fact, I have them sitting in back of my new monitor. When I watch movies on [...] and sit about 8 feet away on my futon, the sound is still very clear and accurate. I highly recommend this pair of tiny speakers for anyone with a computer system. Definitely a case of great bang for the buck.Customer Review: Great Deal

I was very pleasantly surprised by these speakers. We thought, based on the price, that we would not be able to turn these up very loud, but they are plenty loud enough for my one bedroom apartment. The only problems with them are that they are kind of messy, and they are not very durable. The speakers plug into the wall, are connected by a cord, and obviously, plug into the compy with another cord. Also, I have noticed the power/volume dial knob has started to inch out of place, but it just pushes right back in. I can live with that though. Being on a fixed income, I had to shop around when my old PC speakers quit working some time ago. I found these on Amazon, and decided to order them since they were within my budget. When they arrived, it was simple - plug into power, plug into PC, and wow! I have them positioned on either side of the monitor and it's awesome stereo sound - MUCH better than I had before! So for the money, they are great - they serve the purpose, they don't take up much space and I've found the sound quality to be pretty darned good! These speakers are ideal substitutes for built in laptop speakers. About 3 inches square and 5 inches high, they are small and light enough to stash in your computer bag. The transformer is built in which adds to the convenience. Don't expect thumping bass or ear splitting volume from this diminutive pair. The sound quality is very listenable, especially for talk radio. Music does sound thin due to the limited bass response but still better than laptop sound. All in all it was $11 well spent. I gave it 5 stars because they are perfect for what they are intended for.Customer Review: Good for a family computer

The sound quality is not the best, but I set these up on the family computer so it didn't need to sound great, it just needed to have sound. They are nice and heavy, with volume control knob and power button on the front, so they can be turned off and on fast to save power.
These speakers have an external power supply, so I wouldn't recommend them for a laptop user, I also wouldn't recommend these for a power user, as the sound is not the best in the world, but they are perfect for someone who is just looking to get some kind of sound output for their computer.
