Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech S120 2.0 Multimedia SpeakersCustomer Review: Perfect for me. Summary: 5 Stars
Let me tell you what I do with my computer. I look at websites on the internet, watch youtube videos, and I write some documents. I don't really play games very much, I don't do any video editing, and I don't download any songs and listen to them.
Accordingly my speaker needs are not very demanding. I bought these for 11 dollars at walmart. They are ideal in that they play sound of sufficent quality for my computer use. And the low cost is ideal. If they last me a year I will be satisfied, and to date they have not given me any indication that they will be konking out on me.
If you have similar computer habits as I described above, and want a cheap speaker that has just the basics (volume control, and headphones, and space-age on/off capacity) this is what you want. They're also small enough that they don't make your desktop cluttered. Unlike the old pieces of nostalgic garbage I used to have from like 1996.
Customer Review: Amazing speakers for the price Summary: 5 Stars
If you need a decent set of desktop speakers, these are the ones to get. I actually have them connected to my PS2 in the living room and they do an excellent job at getting the whole room full of sound with my projector. I get to play Final Fantasy X on a 100" screen on the wall with these speakers. They sound excellent, no distortion, decent bass, and great clarity in the mids/highs. For the price these are very very good speakers as the other reviews point out. I usually read various reviews on Amazon on items, and they are pretty accurate. Especially with speakers, take all the 4/5 stars these speakers get and pick them up. For the price, you can't find anything better. I have a set of Hercules speakers which are in the same price range, but I like these Logitech's more. They are really really small as well which is great too. I wish I had known about these before I got my Hercules and I would have gotten them.
Customer Review: Big Bang for the Buck Summary: 5 Stars
ok so I normally use the $100+ speakers and these are not going to blow your mind or anything. For what its worth they are super practical and if you're using them with your desktop or laptop for basic voice chatting or minimal music listening then they are right up your alley. I tried them with skype (I have a usb mic which I think its absolutely required) so that the person on the other end can hear you with perfect clarity. I can hear the people I talk to as if they were sitting across the table. The features I really liked:
- Power Adaptor self contained within one of the speakers and the amp in the other speaker.
- Minimal and clean cord setup.
I put a small piece of electrical tape over the orange LED to minimize distraction and I'm set to go. I leave them on 24/7 and I don't hear any electrical noise when appliances are switched on or off in the vicinity.
Customer Review: Great basic speakers - can't be beat at this price level. Summary: 5 Stars
You can generally count on Logitech to manufacture quality components. In this case, these speakers have decent sound quality, are super simple to set-up and take up little space as their combined footprint is pretty small. I also like having a manual on/off and volume switch to grab if the phone rings or if I need a temporary boost in volume. I bought this set to enhance the audio of my ViewSonic monitor. I knew the monitor didn't have good sound when I bought it so I added a pair of these speakers to the budget to compensate and I haven't been disappointed yet. I have a minor hearing impediment to begin with, so my listening needs aren't the same as those an audiophile would have. I just want to be able to watch videos and movies and perhaps listen to my ipod every once in a while. If you have higher expectations your needs will be best met in a much higher price bracket.
Customer Review: Great speakers for under $10 Summary: 5 Stars
I bought these elsewhere and got them for just under $10 with free shipping. They pack a lot of punch for such small speakers. Very sleek design with a black matte color. This means unlike the glossy ones that end up as dust magnets these are not. A good weight that suggests quality and a clean looking front grill. The nice steady feet keep them in place and upright even when bumped. They have an easy access volume control and headphone input.
They could have something a little less glaring than the bright orange power light...green or blue would have worked very well. It is the only thing that detracts from these otherwise aesthetically well designed Logitech Speakers. As a graphic designer I notice these detailed errors in product design. It is the single thing that kept them from being perfectly designed and detracted from the over all look of the products quality.
