Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Quickcam for Notebooks DeluxeCustomer Review: Read this carefully ......lol Summary: 5 Stars
Trust me buddy....after seeing different brands of webcams I have come to this conclusion that Logitech is the best in the industry.... well I am not talking about the entry level webcams where it is difficult to compare as they all suck.
This one is as good as it gets. Look around for a decent discounted price (after instant or mail-in-rebate) and grab yours. This is perfect for my laptop. It fits nicely, the picture quality is great both under natural and artificial lighting conditions. It has a lovely face-tracking feature that gets you out of those days of webcams where you had to sit stiff without any movement.
The form factor is perfect - it is real tiny !! I don't understand why a lot of people complain about fitting problems. The fitting clamp is stretchable and expands upto one inch and that should be more than enough unless you are trying to set the cam on a desktop monitor !!!
Get one with your eyes closed !
Customer Review: Impressive Summary: 5 Stars
I just got this camera today and I love it! Its a grayish-silver in color and has a manual focus. The usb cable is long enough to hook up to my usb port which is towards the front on my laptop (I have an HP Pavilion DV8000). It works just as well as my standard size PC webcam, also a Logitech. Its face tracking and ability to adjust to light made me very impressed with it considering its size. And the fact that it comes with its own little pouch makes it more appealing to take it on trips. When I first pulled it out of the packaging, I though "Uh-oh, this isn't big enough to hook on my laptop monitor." But then I noticed that the notebook clip is expandible from the back and I got lucky cuz if my monitor was any bigger, I wouldn't have been able to clip it on. - So make sure you know your monitor's width before you buy it.
The one other thing is that you have to be careful cuz there is no cover for the lens.
Customer Review: Excellent picture quality even in low light.. Summary: 5 Stars
Almost all webcams out there have good image quality when there is lots of light. What separates the men from the boys in the webcams category is low light performance. Cheaper webcams will produce crappy images - with lots of noise and grain.
I am very happy to report that this webcam, small though it is, renders excellent images in all light conditions.
The built in mic is good quality too. Sound is clear and loud.
I dont know why so many people had issues with the clip on this cam.. The clip is adjustable, so it can be pulled out to accomodate screens upto 3/4 inch thickness.. I dont think there are any laptop screens that thick anymore.
I did not use the software that came with the cam. Just install the drivers and you are good to go.
In summary, this one is a keeper. Recommended.
Customer Review: LAPTOP Magazine's Editors' Choice - I Agree!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I can see why this webcam was Laptop Magazine's Editor's Choice for webcams. Great design, great features, and easy installation for new Dell Inspiron laptops (It fits PERFECTLY on the Dell Inspiron E1505). PIVOTING design (high/low)allows easy aiming of camera. Low light filter and color boost options make the webcam work in less than ideal light conditions. ADJUSTABLE mechanical focus lens, green "camera on" light and slick easy on/off mount makes it a snap to use at home or on the go. It even has a shutter button to take pictures. Great microphone sensitivity and good picture quality make for good video VOIP phone use. Good support software makes adjustments, picture and video taking a snap. It's also a terrific buy for ~$43. Now if only they made a desktop (CRT monitor) webcam this slick for this price...
Customer Review: Great little camera - clear picture, easy to use! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this camera to talk long distance over the internet with my family. I really love it! It has a very clear picture, better than any of the ones my family are using. The RightLight function does a good job of picking up a good image in low light. It was super easy to install and get started. The mic works from across the room. It's a great size for travel and comes with a nice little pouch to carry it in.
I read some reviews saying it didn't fit on top of some laptops...At first I thought it didn't fit on mine either, then I figured out the clamp slides open quite wide (about 3/4 in. opening). It may be a little obscure how this functions so I could understand how someone might not realize how far it expands.
Overall, I'm very pleased with this camera for the price!
