We needed a webcam that worked with macs and this was the one (well, almost the only one advertised as mac ready without additional programs or settings). What we like best is that it was plug and play for us. Nad the picture and sound are great (at least for the Skype account we have--whish isn't perfect). We'd buy it again (but would really like to have a viable cheaper option, too).Customer Review: really worth the money!

We use this camera for HD Skype with the new Skype software. There is no installation--just plug it in--the Mac knows how to use it when Skype is activated. the camera does adjust for low light, uneven light, etc. The microphone is excellent also. It supposedly is self focusing--while we can never see it change sharpness, it does seem to always be in focus. We have been totally delighted!Customer Review: Mac Mini Compatible!

I just bought a Mac Mini and I needed a webcam that would be compatible with it. My computer is running Snow Leopard 10.6.6 and I took the risk of buying this cam (due to the higher cost, and not knowing if it will work correctly) and it works perfect! Truely Plug and Play. I hooked it up via the USB, opened Photobooth and it work prefect! Works with Skype as well. Hope this helps!Customer Review: perfect for skype and recording with quicktime

as it claims it is plug and play compatible with ichat, skype, facetime for mac (BETA), and quicktime. the mic picks up sound wonderfully and the video is great on a good connection speed. automatically switches from streaming HD out is the connection slows or is slow and will kick back onto HD broadcast when capable. This works great with my Mac mini (late 2009 model). I just plugged it in and the rest was automatic, no installation necessary. The hinge allows it to sit stable on top of a monitor and be adjusted as needed. I use this with Apple's FaceTime software and people have commented that the image and sound on my webcam are excellent. I would definitely buy this item again.
