Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac (Black)

Customer Review: Great unit... even on an older Mac... compared to the competition
Summary: 5 Stars

Truly "plug & play," with excellent results... even on an older Mac iBook G4 notebook, 1.42 GHz, with 1 GB DDR SDRAM, running Tiger OS 10.4.11, using Skype. I was a bit apprehensive about purchasing this webcam because of some reports about questionable performance on older, "lower horsepower" Macs... but I was pleasantly surprised when it worked flawlessly on mine. The Logitech QuickCam Vision Pro for Mac is far superior to the Macally IceCam2 Webcam. (I have two Mcally Icecam2 units.) In my estimation, images on the Logitech are three to four time clearer than those on the Mcally. To me, the approximately $70 difference is well worth the additional cost.

Customer Review: Excellent Camera
Summary: 5 Stars

Installed on a MacPro E2008. Camera gives an excellent image, and works perfectly in a wide range of light levels. Plug and play on the Mac-no software installation required! Mic is also excellent-highly directional so no feedback to my speakers, which means no headset!

Auto focus and iris control is very good-resolution better than any other Chat/ Skype camera I have used. I highly recommend ECCAMs Eyeglasses and Call Recorder software add-ons which make this camera unbeatable.

Other than it being USB and not Firewire (no way to dump video into iMovie-yet) this is a high value add-on for a Mac set-up. Worth every penny.

Customer Review: Great replacement for iSight
Summary: 5 Stars

If you have an older Mac, or as I do, a non-Apple flat-panel monitor, you'll need to supply your own camera if you intend to use video iChat. This camera is the perfect replacement for iSight. It works flawlessly and transparently under Leopard, (OS X 10.5) without a need for drivers; just plug it in, and all your Mac apps which use video recognize it immediately. Image quality is superb; great color fidelity, plus it focuses automatically, and adjusts exposure automatically for most lighting conditions. And best of all, it's a lot cheaper than the Apple iSight cams you'll see floating around on eBay!

Customer Review: Simply excellent and works right out of the box.
Summary: 5 Stars

I am not a Mac person and I bought this for my wife. It has all the features the PC version has via hardware in the unit (I confirmed this with Logitech technical support before purchasing in July 2009).

It works wonderfully. Just plug in, open up an account (Skype seems to be the reliable and preferred one), and she is busy with friends around the country and around the world.

Very clear image and just what the product says it will do. Well worth the extra money (friends had recommended a $20 dollar webcam as good enough).

Customer Review: Great Web Cam
Summary: 5 Stars

I first purchased a Logitech at Best Buy that the sales rep said was compatible with MAC's, upon reading the fine print and talking to Logitech, it was not. The Logitech web site posted venders for the Quickcam Vision Pro for MAC. The best price and in stock was amazon.com. I purchased it on line and it shipped the next day and was received two days later. It was a snap to install and works exactly as advertised. Good price, good delivery, good product. If you are a MAC person, as are all smart people, and you want a web cam, this is the one for you.
