Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Premium Notebook Headset

Customer Review: Compact and Versatile
Summary: 5 Stars

I had the same headset for several years and this was a replacement purchase after an unfortunate accident severed the microphone cable. I use this headset primarily for VOIP calls with great results. The newer version of this headset is USB only, but I prefer this version which includes a USB adapter, but is an analog headset. I have built adapters to allow use with both Cisco and Polycom desktop IP phones. When I hit the road I simply unplug from the adapter and take the headset with me in the included hard-side carrying case which also holds the USB adapter.

In addition to using the headset with the home made adapters for Cisco and Polycom phones, I have also used this headset with the Cisco softphone, Microsoft Office Communicator, Skype, Google Voice, and calling from Gmail. The USB adapter has been used with Windows XP, Windows 7, and Linux (Ubuntu).

This headset is comfortable enough for spending several hours a day on the phone and the sound quality is good. I would recommend this item to anyone looking for a combination analog and USB headset.

Customer Review: Very nice
Summary: 5 Stars

When our company decided to start using Skype for conference calls, we were each given a cheap headset. I couldn't get mine to work half the time on my laptop, and on both my laptop and desktop the sound quality was terrible. Santa brought me one of these (they were under $30 at the time), and I've been very happy with them. Just out of curiosity, I tested the old headset with the USB plug that came with this one, and I immediately had far better quality. Then I used this headset with its plug and the quality improved even further.

Some people have complained that it doesn't fit well with their eyeglasses, but I haven't noticed any problem with mine. In fact, it fits much better than any of the over-the-head headphones that I've tried. It probably depends on the style; my glasses don't wrap around behind my ear.

If you're suffering with mediocre- or low-quality sound because your computer has a low-end sound card, I'd highly recommend this product, especially if you can get it for under $30.

Customer Review: Great range, Crisp sound, Good bass.

I received these as a gift. I have to admit, I was a little worried at first due to the compact nature of the headphones. Upon listening to them I was pleasantly surprised to find that they exceeded my expectations. The sound is excellent and they do a good job of reproducing low frequencies. They are also extremely comfortable to wear. I can wear them for hours without getting sore ears. They also allow your ears to breathe unlike closed ear designs which will leave you with sweaty ears after those long night gaming sessions. They are also adjustable so you can configure them to be more or less snug to your ear. The microphone works great and the inline mic mute and volume control is extremely handy. It also comes with a handy travel case, great for safely transporting your headphones to those LAN parties. It also comes with a USB adapter for flexibility in connecting to different systems though I highly recommend using the native mini jacks to plug directly into the sound card if available.

Customer Review: Great headset!
Summary: 5 Stars

This headset is excellent, it is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a set to use with skype and also be able to use for listening to music. The clarity on skype is very good and so is the overall audio quality. The headset is medium to high comfort - it doesn't really hurt to have it on for a long time but it does feel good to take it off after an hour or more. The travel case is a bit bulky but it is very nice to package everything up for on the road. It's easily small enough to fit in my shoulder pack with my laptop and other essentials. One other nice feature is that you can position the mic so it's not sticking out and the headset then appears just like any other set of behind the neck headphones. Then when you get a call or want to chat you just easily flip it back into position. For $40 though I think this is a great deal, the headset is portable with the case, pretty comfortable, and audio quality seems good.

Customer Review: Wow, I am very impressed with Logitech quality

Take out of box, plug in and enjoy... this headset has a great sound and noise cancelling microphone works so well and sounds great. They are very comfortable and I could see using them for a period of time. Used with Skype and ran the Echo/Sound Test and my voice was so clear and clean. Listening to music right now and the sound is clear, clean and loud enough that I only need to have the volume set to half way. The carrying case is added plus and the USB Adaptor works great, but remember to push the plugs all the way in, they hang a little but fit very secure. I did research on Amazon for a good laptop headset for Skype and audio/visual conferencing and it was close but I chose this pair and do not regret a bit. I can see folding and unfolding is a little tricky but with practice it will go easier, not a negative at all. The Price is not bad considering an equal style through work is over $100.
