Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Optical Marble Mouse (USB/PS2)Customer Review: Great mouse, my favorite so far Summary: 5 Stars
Although, this is the first trackball I ever used, it seems to be the best mouse I ever used. I thought I was going to stick with my light mouse, even after my mom got this track ball. I decided to give the trackball a try. Quite the difference! At least for me, it was very quick and easy to get the hang of it. Some may think it'd be hard to click on things, moving the ball and not the mouse, but this is quite simple to control. It's great with games as well, aimming better. Instead of moving the mouse back and forth a lot to move yourself in a game, use your fingers to move you around. Plus, you can leave stuff around the mouse and not feel like you're going to spill, because the mouse part doesn't move. Strange though, I found out on Descent 3, there's one button you can't use. Other than that, using it for windows or whatever, and having two other buttons for selected uses, using the back and forward for internet, or scrolling up and down, etc.
Customer Review: One of the best and cheapest trackballs Summary: 5 Stars
This is an optical trackball with a one inch diameter red ball (the marble in "marble mouse") that moves within a three point holder with an optical pickup.
Only the ball moves.
There are four buttons. It is perfectly designed, very simple and effective.
It is quite different than a moving mouse, and faster too.
It takes a few minutes to get used to, but once you do, you may never want go back to a moving mouse again, mouse pad and all
This is just the thing to end repetitive motion pain and injury, especially if you turn up the mouse sensitivity or "acceleration".
It is easy to clean, just pop out the red ball and wipe the holder.
And believe it or not, I have seen expert gamers using it very effectively, and I swear they were faster than their competition.
I use it for all my mundane computer work and no longer suffer from "mouse hand" pain.
The price is right too, at between 14 and 20 dollars.
Customer Review: I Love, Love, Love this Mouse Summary: 5 Stars
This little mouse just rocks my world. I'm a graphic designer, and I've tried every mouse on the planet, even the thumb-driven version of this mouse (which left me...ahem...all thumbs because I just couldn't get the groove of it), and I take this mouse with me everywhere. I had previously used the Kensington track ball then the Kensington orbit track ball (not the Hum-V versions, though, those are pretty monster sized, and I'm not into programming buttons for quick jumps), and I had to move on because they kept getting stuck no matter how clean I kept them. But THIS mouse glides like a figure skater on ice. It's great. If you're thinking of making the leap from a traditional push-it mouse to a track-ball, it will take you about a day to get used to it, and then you'll never go back. And you may find yourself strangely territorial. When other people try to use your mouse, you'll find you might just feel like they're drinking out of your coffee cup or using your toothbrush.
Customer Review: A Great Paperweight -- and So Much More... Summary: 5 Stars
For versatility with a small footprint you simply cannot beat Logitech's Marble -- especially at the price.
In fairness to the reviewer who found this device clumsy, I'd like to point out that the buttons on this mouse are NOT INTENDED to be operated in the familiar "point & click" manner; they're set back for a reason: the second (and/or third) finger controls the trackball, while the THUMB operates the click/select button. Meanwhile, the fourth finger rests comfortably on the context button. The double-button-trackball scroll thingie takes some getting use to, but in a day or two you learn to love it.
I suppose I should also mention that I'm a southpaw with rather small hands, so the ability to use this device on the left side of my keyboard is a huge plus, but I'd recommend this mouse to anyone with limited desktop space.
Oh, and it makes a dandy paperweight (contrary to the aforementioned review).

Customer Review: awesome Summary: 5 Stars
Once again Logitech makes an amazing product. Previously I had been using the right-handed Trackman, but over the years my right hand has become sore when I use it too often, so I started looking at this type of trackball.
The lack of the scroll wheel bothered me a bit so I ended up getting a Kensington Turbo Trackball which did have a scroll wheel. Big mistake that was!! Its design is so inferior to this Logitech, the ball falls out way too easily, and the scroll wheel is totally useless. What a waste of cash!
I didn't hesitate to pick up one of these instead and I knew as soon as I plugged it in that I should have gone with this one right from the start. The size is perfect and it's very easy to use in either hand. Your hand will curve around the body very naturally, and little movement of the fingers is needed to control the ball. GREAT product, I'll be getting more for the rest of my comps soon!
