Customer Review: THis is the best! For Both Work and Game
Summary: 5 Stars

I'm a college student and I use my laptop everyday. It's very inconvenient when I bring my laptop to the library or classroom and sit in those chairs with little flip table or armrest, because I hate using the touch pad and regular mouse requires too much space to operate on this limited space.

But this Marble mouse is just fantastic at preforming on a limited space stage. no need to chase the mouse anymore, or trying to reposition your mouse when it's approaching the edge of the table/mousepad. All you need to do is to move your fingers not your entire forearm.

Also no need to clean the bottom of the mouse, and the length of the usb cord is no longer a problem, It's almost like a wireless mouse!

And yes, I can play games with it. preform so much better in CounterStrike than many other mid level mouse without the jumpy aim.

It does, however, take some time to get used to, but ones you did, you will never wanna go back to one of those mouse that run all over the table top.

Customer Review: way, way smoother than expected
Summary: 5 Stars

I was an analog trackball user for quite some time. I reluctantly migrated to optical mice for the cleaning convenience, but always missed the wrist-friendly and precise trackball.

A couple of years ago, I tried out several optical trackballs, but was very frustrated how jittery and sporatic it's performance was. I play games and photoshop, so I need a smooth cursor for aiming and careful digital photo work.

I recently decided to give the Logitech Marble Mouse a try after reading several of the reviews here. It was $20, so I wasn't expecting the world, but was very much surprised at how great the product was.

It's terribly smooth. I can make it jitter ever-so-slightly if I really try, but it in no way affects my gameplay or graphical work.

Heck, for $20, I'm thinking about giving these out for Christmas presents. Superb product!

A scroll wheel would be nice, but that's only a minor quibble that doesn't affect the product performance.

Customer Review: Ergonomic Blessing
Summary: 5 Stars

Am a web designer and on the computer all the time. Been using Logitech Optical Marble Mice for several years.

Have had repetative stress syndrome in my wrists and arms. First solution was to get a ball mouse. Huge difference in one weekend.

I was also encouraged to use my left hand and use my right hand less. Sooooo, I have two Logitech Optical Marble Mice now, left and right. I am not ambidextrous at all, but my left hand was able to be pretty effective because of the glide of this mouse.

To use two mice, I just plugged both into USB ports and the computer recognized both instantly. Very adaptable. Didn't even need drivers or any software.

I haven't had any problem holding the button done and using the ball while dragging or doing very detailed graphics and photo imaging.

No one in the house liked my mice at first, but now one of my sons prefers it for games. Once you get used to it, it's great. You won't want to go back.

Customer Review: Feels good and works
Summary: 5 Stars

After a few days of using this trackball mouse, I am satisfied that for the price you can't beat this trackball. I tried and wanted to use the Kensington Orbit 64226, but it was disfunctional almost from the start. I admit I am used to optical mice, but I tried hard to use the Orbit because I loved the design and the feel, and the ergonomics of it. I had to send it back ultimately, and I went out and bought the Marble Mouse the next day. For the price, the Marble Mouse is the best, and even for a higher price it would be fine. It feels just right in my hand, and the marble is responsive and clean in its way around the screen. I didn't install the Logitech software, as I don't need the other two buttons for anything, and the basic scrolling and clicking work fine on my Mac, and installing drivers from vendors seems to bring problems to a good percentage of users. If you need it, there are reports of fine functioning of the software on Mac and Windows platforms, as well as horror stories.

Customer Review: Good choice

Logitech Optical Marble Mouse (USB/PS2)

I purchased three of these for clients, all of which have arm tremors: Parkinson's disease or old age. Two of the clients are left handed the other is right handed. The Logitech Marble mouse has turned out to be very near to perfect for these folks. While the price was not paramount, this is a low ticket item. It can be used with either hand, as the track ball has a central location. It is heavy enough to stay put with either a desk top or lap top.
There are disadvantages to this mouse. There is no scroll wheel, but scroll options are available. Something that I seldom do, the installation instructions need to be read to select the appropriate options. Finally, there is a frustration of learning a new mouse; however, that frustration is insignificant to the frustration of the inability to navigate a traditional mouse due to involuntary arm movements.

It is a good mouse and priced right. Hope that this helps.
