Customer Review: Easiest for retraining you non-dominant hand
Summary: 5 Stars

I used to be a CAD draftsman-- a mouse-intensive activity, often with tense deadlines. I would get hand spasms from using my dominant (right) hand so much for hours on end. Other people I know have trained their non-dominant hand to use a regular mouse, to give their dominant hand a break. I'm too uncoordinated for that. But I found it relatively easy to train my dumber hand to use the Logitech Marble Mouse. Unlike a conventional mouse, positioning the pointer and clicking buttons is done entirely with separate fingers, so finger control doesn't need to be quite as good. Sure, it's A LITTLE slower than the mouse with my smarter hand-- and I don't have more than two buttons, nor a scroll-wheel. (Actually, a third button can be simulated by playing a "chord" with the two buttons simultaneously, but I haven't found that feature very useful.) If given a choice between greater speed for a year until I "mouse-out," and continuous productivity at a slightly slower pace (going on 10 years now), I choose the latter. I'd argue that point to any employer: groups like OSHA and the Calif. Worker's Comp. system would back me up. Preserving my hands for playing music is also really, really important to me.

Customer Review: Logitech Optical Marble Mouse
Summary: 5 Stars

I Love this mouse it works great, I bought this same mouse from Walmart 7 years ago and has worked great for all those years, until about 4 weeks ago the left button started to double click, a little annoying the rest of the mouse still works fine,so I decided it's about time to go and purchase a new mouse,I've looked around all the local stores but they don't sell this mouse any more. I originally bought this mouse because I have Carpal Tunnel and can not use a standard mouse without extreme pain,I then started using thumb balls,I don't think they sell them anymore but they work great for someone with carpal tunnel, the only problem with them is the track balls don't last long usually about 3 months,so after about 1 year and 5 thumb balls later,I decided to try the Logitech Optical Marble Mouse and have been using it ever since, the only problem with them is when the ball becomes slow, remove the ball and clean the lint from around the sensors only takes about 10 seconds.
Anytime I have difficulty finding a product I always find it at amazon.com, Over the years I've purchased many things from amazon and have never had a problem.

Customer Review: This mouse saved my wrists!
Summary: 5 Stars

For years, I worked with a regular mouse and slowly my wrist was aching, tightening up, and just causing discomfort. I tried different postures, hand positions, gel cushions, pillows, etc., to relieve the pain I was getting to no comfort. I was getting even more concerned about getting carpal tunnel syndrome when I started feeling my fingertips tingling

Then I ran into someone who was leaving their position and decided to give me their mouse - a Logitech Optical Marble Mouse. The more I looked at this design, the more I believed this would help - and it did to the point where I no longer have any of the symptoms mentioned above. It's stationary, it uses my index finger to guide the mouse, the buttons are placed just where I would expect them to be, and my wrist is no longer in a position where it hurts. I take this mouse everywhere and I love it!

Then I got rid of it. Because they upgraded the mouse to include two smaller buttons! Brilliant!

I recommend this mouse especially if you are concerned about your wrists and their health.

Customer Review: Easy to use, easy on the hand and wrist.
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had my Logitech optical marble mouse for over a year now and it's my favorite mouse device to date. I get all the benefits of a trackball with the ergonomics of a mouse. Even better that it's optical! It's attractive, easy to use, easy on my hand, and - since it doesn't need to travel to work - I can keep it parked next to my keyboard and not fight for working space between the two.

It's not hard to learn to use the marble mouse quickly. It doesn't require a large learning curve - my then 3YO learned to use the marble quickly. Once you get used to it, you'll quite proficient with it. Your forefingers work the marble, your thumb activates one button, and your ring finger activates the other. Very little effort is needed to work this mouse. The extra buttons are customizable - a great feature!

I like that I doesn't stress my hand or wrist at all. I can position the marble mouse to my most comfortable position and there is stays while I work. I don't miss the old style mouse at all. The Logitech marble mouse is for me!

Customer Review: Perfection
Summary: 5 Stars

I can't tell you when I bought my Logitech Marble Mouse...and that's a good thing. I am not referring to the newer model with the four buttons, but to the older one with just two. My Marble Mouse has sat on every desk (gone through three of them) next to every key board (2 of them) above my computer (3 major overhauls)...my only constant is my Marble Mouse. When I know I'm going to be working on a foreign computer for any amount of time, I make certain I take the Marble Mouse with me...I can't fathom using a "regular" mouse anymore. Sure, it needs to be cleaned every so often. Umm...but that's it. I pop the ball out, take a tissue, wipe, and it rolls like the day I bought it. I have experienced *no* discomfort, my palm rests right on the "tail" ( the "Logitech" logo is virtually gone, I've had this for so long) and all the work is done with my index finger on the ball and my thumb on the left button. Sheer simplicity. My only comment would be: in this age of wireless desktops, shouldn't the Marble Mouse have it's tail clipped?
