I bought this mouse earlier this year when it was exclusive to Best Buy and before the blue one was out. I've been very happy with it so far. Very quick & responsive. Best mouse for gamers and quicker and more reliable than wireless, with no need for batteries or recharging!! Set-up was a breeze. I like the forward/back buttons on the side and the customizable buttons on top, makes surfing the net easier and more fun. My sole complaint is it lacks the little red LED my old microsoft mouse had, but that's just a cosmetic/design issue. The MX 510 is very smooth and fits my hand comfortably. Amazon has a great price w/ free shipping too! Highly Recommended.Customer Review: Worthy of 3 exclamation points!!!

I got this mouse as a gift for Christmas 4 and a half years ago, and after all that time it's still going strong and shows no sign of stopping. The mouse, from the beginning, looks awesome. The red-black design scheme really looks great. The mouse fits my hand perfectly, and moves smoothly across any surface, really. The buttons on the side of the mouse are great (so much so that I tend to think any other mouse is inferior when I use the side buttons). Also, the scroll buttons above and below the mousewheel are a great addition.
Overall, I've never seen a mouse perform and feel better than this, and certainly never look this good doing it.

I heard of the performance of this mouse through word-of-mouth. I had been barely surviving with some cheap generic mouse. This mouse, however, is phenomenal. It's solid, it's accurate, and it fits very well in my hand. I like how the buttons are formed into the design, they respond perfectly. The "back" and "forward" buttons are used all the time, plus they can be bound in games for two extra buttons. I've had no problems with the cruise control buttons, or the scroll wheel.
It's worth the extra money. I play Counter-Strike all the time, and after a few minutes of getting used to the extra sensitivity, my game has improved dramatically.

I bought a red MX-510 earlier this year from Best Buy for $40.00 plus tax; about $12 more than what Amazon is charging for them now. It's an excellent mouse for just about everything from just basic net surfing and especially FPS games. I'm impressed with how smooth and accurate it really is.
I recently bought a wireless MX 1000 laser mouse. I honestly can't tell any difference performance wise between the MX 510 optical and the MX 1000 Laser mouse with the exception of the cordless MX 1000 is heavier and molds to my hand slightly better. The MX 510 is a solid high performance mouse at about half the cost of MX 1000.

At first I was a little hesitant to spend almost 40 dollars on a mouse but after buying this mouse I have to say it was one of my best purchases in a long while. It fits perfectly in mu hand even though I have rather large hands. The way your hand sits on the mouse is so comfortable and more natural position then most other mice.I also love the holographic design on the top it makes it look like it has dings and stuff in the top. The buttons on the mouse are also very convient and usful at the same time. I love the speed scroll buttons. Overall I would recomend it to anyone who needs mouse not just for one group or another.
