I went with a corded mouse because I didn't want to have to fool with changing batteries all the time. Also, I'd heard that cordless mice can sometimes not be as precise or dependable as corded mice.
This mouse is smooth and precise, and the contoured shape fits my hand perfectly. The wheel works well, but is a bit noisy. I've gotten used to it though, and really have no significant complaints. It's a great, dependable mouse.

I was having trouble with mechanical ball mice which were unreliable well past the point where cleaning helped. After reading several reviews I selected this model. The price isn't bad. The performance is very good (though I do not do high intensity gaming). I don't think I could use it to draw a perfectly straight free-hand line, but more so than mechanical mice. It installed easily without problems on a Windows XP Pro machine.Customer Review: LOVE,LOVE this mouse!!!

I had an old mouse from the year one. I had to clean out the ball on the bottom all the time and soon it took forever just to highlight or scroll. I love this new laser mouse. It highlights precisely and doesn't need a pad. I'm not into games or anything technical but I'm so happy to get rid of my old one and use this one so easily. It scrolls very fast or very slowly and does whatever a mouse should do. I highly recommend it.Customer Review: dont listen to the negative reviews

this is a fantastic mouse, i use it for a few newer games like World of Warcraft and Rainbow Six Vegas and it works fine, and as i recall i didnt even use the software, if you have a good version of windows and are not incapable of pluging a mouse in then it should work perfectly. it has great response, i can even use my hand as a mouse pad and it works like on a solid surface. great value from logitechCustomer Review: MX400 tops any wireless!

A great mouse! Wired is always better! Started with MX1100 but way too jiggly. Got the MX400 before I sent back the 1100. No comparison. Fewer gadgets and buttons, but I don't need them if the mouse performs effectively and smoothly! It does! The 400 goes from full speed to stop perfectly, without missing a beat...no lag no jiggle! With the 1100, I felt like I had just come off a bad nite at the pub!
