this is the only mouse i've ever owned that became invisible on my desk. That is, it is so totally unproblematic, that it has simply become an extension of my hand. It does nothing to call attention to itself - it just works on every level that a mouse is supposed to work. Pointer never skips, buttons are always within reach and respond decisively, its shape cups your hand very comfortably; it doesnt slip, or skid, or force you to read the manual -- nothing at all, it simply vanishes from your mind. The way a mouse is supposed to, so you can focus on your work or your game. I tried dozens of mice, some with fancy features, others that looked glossy and neat, searching for something I thought I was missing -- in the end, I came back to the straightforward and competent mouse, the one that works hard day after day; all I was missing was something that actually worked, and worked effectively. This is probably one of the only mice that have actually got the thumb button placing right. taken it may be a bit back for big hands like mine. But curving your thumb to click ... that's a no-effort compared to stretching your thumb forward like other mice expect you to. No problems with hibernating and suspending with my machine. All functions stable as a rock and absolutely love the software. It is so easy to reconfigure this mouse according to the task at hand. A true time-saver. My son also uses it for excellent gaming. Also, get the updated software from the logitech site. I have had no problems with this device at all except my hands are a little big and this one is about the same size as the normal Microsoft mouse and not as big as the pictures may make you think. Also, the middle button is a little too hard for my taste ... hey, no problem ... I just use the feather-lite right-tilt as the middle-click ! Awesome !Customer Review: BEST LOGITECH MOUSE EVER!!!!!

I have a MAC and I love Logitech products in general. I have a Logitech MX 300 at my base home and it's great but no frills. I didn't even realize how loud that scroll wheel was until I bought the Logitech MX 400 to replace my boring, frustrating MAC Mighty Mouse. I am an AVID researcher - only the best for me and I was looking for a second mouse (since I am out of town a lot). I don't like wireless ones because they lag and are a real pain. I stumbled across this one and it has been the BEST mouse ever!! It's accurate, functional, soooo smooth (scroll wheel included), feels and fits great (I have long slender fingers), sleek design......what else can I say? You can customize what functions you want the buttons to do: zoom, scroll, go back and forth, up and down - whatever. Best precise mouse ever. Even my techie gamer friend loves it! I'm not a gamer, so I don't know. All I know is this mouse is da bomb!Customer Review: Works great on a Mac too!

I always liked the MouseMan design when I used to use Windows PCs. The mouse that comes with the Apple iMac may be a work of art but isn't nearly as functional or comfortable to use. I tried the wireless keyboard and mouse that Logitech makes especially for the Mac and was very disappointed in the software. I'd rather have a wired mouse and keyboard for a desktop computer anyway. No need to buy batteries. Rather than go back to an Apple mouse, I decided to give this one a try. I'm glad I did.
This mouse works very well with my iMac G5. The CD-ROM that comes with it made no mention of having an OS X version of the software on it (even though it says OS X is supporte on the box), so I downloaded that from Logitech's web site. I'm very happy with the way this mouse works. It's very precise and responsive. Too bad the color doesn't match, but I can live with that.

I bought this mouse 9 months ago for the "family computer", but now I use it on my Mac Pro to replace the unreliable Mighty Mouse. It worked perfectly with no issues, and I was able to set Spaces and Expose to the side buttons easily.
This mouse is the perfect balance of reliable quality, good features, comfort, and affordability. The scroll wheel is great and sideways scrolling is very nice. The laser tracking is excellent. The shell may not be as fancy and contoured as some high-end mice, but it is still very comfortable. The 2 extra buttons add nice functionality, but it doesn't have the abundance of extra buttons that some gaming mice do.
If you don't need cordless and you don't need a ton of extra buttons, this mouse has all the other perks, like laser and tilt wheel, that a high-end mouse would have. For under $40, you really can't beat it.
