Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech LX7 Cordless Optical Mouse - Dark Blue ( 931395-0403 )Customer Review: Die-Hard Logitech User Summary: 5 Stars
I recently purchased the Logitech LX 7 wireless optical mouse. This mouse replaced a Logitech MX 610 Loser Wireless mouse.(No, that's not a misspelling) My old MX 610 (the second one I owned) was replaced by logitech after 9 months use, and the second one fared little better. Cursor has a nasty little habit of jumping all over the place with that mouse. I had previusly owned a corded optical mouse from Logitech and loved it, but when laser appeared, I had to have one. I love the wireless feature and now that I have sensibly returned to Optical, I'm a happy man once again. This mouse is a tad bit smaller than the MX 610, but I've adjusted. It's funny, reading these reviews, how something so small and seemingly insignificant such as the size of a mouse can physically impact ones life to the degree it does. I go for functionality, and this LX7 has it. Forward and back buttons, ability to cruise up and down, and the other available programmable functions make this LX7 one for the ages and a definite referral.
Update: 2 Months Later. Still using the original set of batteries, amazing. And I'm a daily user. The old MX610 went through three sets of batteries a month. I'm lovin' this Mouse
Customer Review: excellent mouse, precise and comfortable Summary: 5 Stars
In my opinion, the key features of a mouse are precision, ease of use, and comfort. This mouse satisfies all three of these criteria as well as I could possibly expect.
Beyond this, the feature set is quite complete enough for most users (I'm not a gamer, so can't comment on that kind of usage). You ought to use the Logitech SetPoint software (download from logitech.com) to be able to use all the features and customize the mouse to your liking.
I am using this with Vista, having acquired it to replace a dead rollerball mouse. Since I already had SetPoint installed, all I had to do was to plug it in, and it picked up all my previous settings without trouble and began to work well.
I also like the power-saving feature (automatically goes to standby), and the power switch (useful if you're packing the mouse for travel, or if you're going away for a few days without the mouse).
I myself wouldn't use this mouse for travelling; for that I prefer a smaller Logitech mouse which allows the usb key to be inserted into the mouse. (See the V450 for example.)
Check the Logitech website for driver support for other operating systems.
Customer Review: the BEST mouse Summary: 5 Stars
I just purchased this mouse over the weekend at another retailer but should've gone through Amazon as it was cheaper... Anyway, I am MOST impressed by this mouse. It is very accurate, so much so I began to see what other surfaces I could move it on and still accurately move around on screen: my chest w/ sweater, my pant leg, and my other desk chair didn't hinder the mouse in any way! I would highly recommend this mouse for laptop users who travel and won't necessarily have a desktop to work on. The LX7 is also very comfortable to hold - I have smaller hands and the weight is solid but not too heavy once you put in the two AA batteries (supplied). The tapered shape and height of the back of the mouse support the hand well. The scroll wheel is responsive and I like the side to side zoom feature too. It is not a super loud clicker/grinder type like the microsoft mice.
Tracking is very good - photoshop/Illustrator and CAD users take note. Extra second function buttons on top of the mouse can be programmed for quick launch settings.
Finish is very good - this is a top-quality product. Logitech does it right!
Customer Review: I switched from Logitech's Trackman Wheel...you can too! Summary: 5 Stars
I was saddened by the fact that Logitech's Trackman Wheel "mouse" isn't so ubiquitous. Insted of continuing to hunt one down, I bought this mouse and I really like it. It's very comfortable, has a nice heft to it, and is very precise. The USB mechanism is a lot larger than I had hoped; but this is a cosmetic issue only.
I don't own a desktop computer. I use this mouse for my notebook and didn't want one of those small notebook mice. I am delighted there are no buttons on the side of the mouse that I can press accidentally. There is an on/off switch on the bottom of the mouse to save battery life and you can zoom in and out quite easily on a webpage or other program. I tend to go back and forth on web pages and can now do this with a click of a button on this mouse.
The ergonomics are fine. I have hands on the small side and I also have "abnormally short thumbs" (so says my doctor) and find this mouse comfortable to use.
Recommended!
Customer Review: Outstanding Product!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this product after carefully reviewing several options. After all, this would be my first experience with a wireless mouse and I did not want to be disappointed. I considered online reviews, overall ratings, and price at a variety of online vendors. I even visited my local computer store to consult with the salespeople there. My laptop immediately recognized the USB receiver and I have been in operation ever since without any blunders. There is no lagging in performance and it even has a battery-saving feature. FYI, the size of this mouse is for average to large-sized hands, so if you want a tiny or compact mouse, this is not the one for you. Even after you consider its larger size-if this is even an issue- this mouse still demands special consideration due to its multi-button features (4-way scroll with tilt wheel, page-forward & page-backward). I highly recommend this product!
