Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Harmony Xbox 360 Remote

Customer Review: Best. Remote. Ever.
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a friend who has this remote and he has always said how great it was. I was tired of constantly swapping between the four remotes I have for various things, including my Xbox 360 and its HD-DVD player, and happened to get a $50 Amazon Gift Card. So I knew just what to get.

I received it today, and spent a couple hours personalizing and playing with it. It found all my components, even my cable companies Digital Cable/HD-DVR box made by Motorola, without a problem. It made pre-set "activites", which I have found to be one of the best ideas in remote control history.

I needed to set some buttons (like a button for my DVR recordings), but it was all easy to do, and plenty of buttons to assign jobs to.

I now have it just about perfect. I am still learning all the tricks, but as I have told several people so far, "I did not think they could make a remote cool, but somehow they did it."

Could not say enough good things, comes with two sets of batteries (Duracell brand), amazing PC software, the USB cable, and everything you need. $80 might sound like a lot for a remote, but even after one night this has already made my entertainment experience A LOT better.

Great for use with your 360 as well, seems to be more responsive than my standard remotes.

Customer Review: Great Match for Game Room TV with XBox
Summary: 5 Stars

We have a Harmony 720 remote that has been a marriage saver for our family room TV. Since my wife loves only having one remote and the easy to understand LCD screen and Help menu on the 720, I decided to drop the $$ for a Harmony remote when we remodeled our den.

The den now has new Vizio (M370NV)TV with BluRay AND the critical item became the XBox 360 which we use to watch Netflix movies. The Harmony Remote XBox 360 remote is fantastic to control the Netflix selection process and more importantly operates all the play/pause/rewind/etc. funcions.

Prior to getting the Harmony remote I used the XBox game controller which was confusing and not intuitive to play a movie. This remote makes switching to the XBox to watch a Netflix movie a one button operation and we're ready to sit down with popcorn.

Since I was comfortable in programming the 720 model I was ready to spend an hour or so setting up all the controls and programable buttons for the Harmony. I did learn that I had to create another "account" with Harmony with a new user ID and password. I love having all the functions from 5 remotes (TV, Amplifier, DirectTV, DVD, and XBox) programmed in the one Harmony remote.

If you use an XBox to access NetFlix then this is the ideal remote.

Customer Review: Great Product! Just love it.

This is a great product. As always Logitech took the Harmony remortes and made them beautiful looking. The remotes were already very functional. This is a special model if yo have XBox 360. It has the XBox 360 buttons. Another great thing is - setup. Super easy. Connect the USB cable to a computer and the remote. It uses a web based tool to connect to Logitech site and lets you select devices and learns the configurations used by them. And, to top it all they have a large database of devices so no painful learning of codes. Then, if you have some special device, you can always learn the extra codes and map them to the existing hard buttons on the remote. Then, you can have a easy to use Activity based remote. Very good for wifes - who just want to press a button and all the components just magically turn on and configure themselves. Just press Activities button and a list of pre-configured (by you) activities (e.g. Watch TV, Watch DVD, Watch VCR, Watch Dish, Listen to Music etc. ) show up. Then just press the activity you need - an all the components turn on. Also, it has a Help button that will walk you down each componenet and ask questions that can be replied in Yes or No, and it will fire the command again. Very nice. My whole family likes it.

Customer Review: Amazing after a little effort.

I feared that the 360 version would be a little gimmicky or would not be able to control everything I needed it to.
Right out of the box it will control the 360 (of course) and setting up activities is not hard but will take a little bit of your time. The benefit to this is that it will give you a better understanding of how your various components are connected. Knowledge is always good.
This remote has the ability to do 99% of whatever you need it to do in terms of controlling your home theater set up and it will do it fairly easily. Time is really the only investment that you'll need to make to get everything set up exactly as you'd like it because if the remote doesn't perform the function as it should you simply press "help" on the remote and it will walk you through fixing the problem.
My set up has everything from a new Denon receiver to a 19 year old Denon CD player and the database had the remote codes for all of it. Amazing.
Besides the functionality the remote looks great and the backlighting is clear and for all of the buttons. Some have noted that the number buttons are too small but I rarely use those and when I have they were easy to use.
I can not imagine how this remote would not suit your needs.

Customer Review: Works Just Like it Claims
Summary: 5 Stars

We bought this remote (Christmas gift) because I read past reviews about it's reliability and ease of programming, but the biggest reason was that it was able to control a 32" Niko LCD TV that my son has in his bedroom. He also has an Xbox360 and Comcast digital cable TV box....and this remote does a fantastic job working ALL the components with ALL of their features, nothing was left out. Programming was easy with the online feature and we had no issues connecting to the website to do so, although we did wait until a week or so after Christmas to do it....we read that right after the holiday that the Logitech website is inundated with new buyers trying to program their new remotes and the site would bog down. The buttons have a firm feel and are positioned conveniently, it doesn't feel cheap at all, it's a nice solid unit that I think would last for quite awhile. We have a Sony remote for our family room with an LCD touch screen (big & heavy!)and it didn't control all the features of the devices that we programmed into it....and it was twice the price of the Harmony remote! I'm looking to replace the Sony with a Logitech as I write this! So far, so good....highly recommended.
