Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Harmony RF Wireless ExtenderCustomer Review: Perfect, brilliant Summary: 5 Stars
First thing I must point out is what the other reviewer said:
Even though the Harmony 1000 can control 15 devices, and this RF-IR is supposed to be an extension of the remote... and in fact physically is able to control however many devices that can be within IR-shot, however the useless logitech software only lets you select up to 8 of the devices in the list to be sent to the RF extender instead of the Harmony! but you could have 2 RF extenders. Note that the Logitech web site does not mention this limitation, and even says it can support all the devices that you can fit into the cupboard, so my advice is to complain to Logitech to either lift that restriction or send you a free additional RF extender to live up to their claim of 15 devices!
Customer Review: Improves the reliability of your Harmony remote Summary: 5 Stars
This is my third Harmony remote (model 890), and previously I wasn't using the RF Extender.
When you buy the Harmony 890, one RF Extender like this one is already included in the box.
I felt that the RF Extender increases the reliability of the Harmony remote. Previously I found myself using more frequently the Harmony "Help" button to re-send signals that were not picked by the devices. With the RF Extender, the infrared emitter is glued right into each device signal receptor, so there's no way it doesn't detect the signal.
I highly recommend using the RF Extender if you found yourself using too frequently the Help button to resend signals to your devices.
Customer Review: necessary for controlling hidden equipment Summary: 5 Stars
Along with the Harmony 1100, this allows you to operate components in other rooms or hidden in a cabinet where the infrared "point and click" won't work.
This is the 2nd one of these RF extenders that I have used. The first was a Universal that went along with it's remote. This one appears to work with a better range and emits a more powerful signal to the component. I bought it to go along with the new Harmony 1100 which I find superior to the Universal remote.
Works as expected, and setup is simple. My only gripe is that everytime I want to tweak the Harmony 1100 you have to update this as well. This requires unhooking it and setting it up to your computer.
Customer Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
OK, so before getting this product I was a little worried about how well it will integrate within my system.
The only challenge I faced with the device is that I hate to read directions (my own issue) and at first it was not clear why there are so many options.
Once I read the manual it all made sense. I threw the Extender in a closet behind a closed closet... didn't even use ANY of the emitters and it worked beautifully and VERY quickly.
Straightforward setup, responds well to my Harmony 1100 ... Created an excellent situation for us to hide all the equipment and use the remote from ANYWHERE in the house.
Great product... Hope this helps.
Customer Review: No More Open Door Summary: 5 Stars
I mentioned this device in relation to the review I did on the Harmony 1000. I have my stereo, Cable box and DVD player in a cabinet that is behind my chair, while the TV is over the fire place in front of me. Until now I had to leave the door open on the cabinet and try to reflect the light off the TV into the cabinet, which worked until the batteries got low. Now the door to the cabinet is closed and everything works perfectly. This is a solution that has made my wife very happy and definitly gives the room a spiffier look. If you have a problem similar to mine, this is the way to go. I whole heartedly recommend it.
