Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Harmony Adapter for PlayStation 3

Customer Review: Does the job
Summary: 5 Stars

Not much to report here. It works great, precisely like it's supposed to. There may be cheaper solutions than this for working with the Harmony remote, but this is the first party official solution so I'm cool with it. I think they make this more than clear, but one thing you should know is that the PS3 has to be in standby mode for this to turn it on and off (it will not turn the power completely on or completely off, only put it into or out of standby mode).

One thing I would have liked to have seen would have been for this to replace the RF Wireless Extender (kind of like a version 2 of it or something that would incorporate this new functionality into that so I wouldn't have to have both plugged in at the same time), but that's just nit-picky. If you have a bluetooth-compatible Harmony remote and the PS3, you'll be more than happy with this.

Customer Review: Life saver for PS3 owners
Summary: 5 Stars

This device is easy to pair with the PS3. It allows you to control your PS3 with the Harmony remote line. The color scheme and plastic appearance matches perfectly with the PS3. It plugs into a wall outlet instead of a USB port so you keep your PS3 ports open. There are no settings to set on the unit other than the "pair" button which you press when you have the PS3 in bluetooth pair mode.

The instructions were fine, but I'm not one to read instructions much. Please note that if you already have the PS3 as part of one of your activities on the Harmony remote, you must log in to the Logitech remote programming software and DELETE then RE-ADD the PS3. The remote control will never recognize the new adapter until you do the delete & re-add because the re-adding process downloads a new template for the PS3 on the re-add.

Customer Review: Easy to setup, works great
Summary: 5 Stars

I've held off getting a universal remote since I have a PS3. I looked at other solutions, but wasn't pleased. When I had to replace my A/V receiver remote, I decided on the Harmony One. To my delight, there was a special that let me add this adapter for free!

Setup was a breeze. Just navigate to the Systems section of the PS3 menu and select "Register Remote". Press the button on the adapter and you're all set.

I now have all the functionality of my Sony PS3 remote on my new Harmony One. The "X", "O" and triangle buttons are soft keys on the touchpad, but that's an insignificant inconvenience once you get used to it.

If you've held off getting a Harmony remote because you had a PS3, now's the time to upgrade! I went from six to one remote and the Harmony One has a lot more features.

Customer Review: No-brainer
Summary: 5 Stars

By 'no-brainer', this MUST be the least risky method of gaining control of the PS3 with a Harmony remote. I looked....there does not appear to be an inexpensive method of bridging the IR-to-Bluetooth.
Harmony 880 controlling a Denon receiver, an LG LCD television, a Scientific Atlanta/Cisco 8300HD cable box/DVR, and a PS3. I had set the remote up to work with the four components before the adapter arrived. Of course, it did not control the PS3.
The adapter arrived, I plugged it in, picked up the remote, and awayyyyyy we go! No problems at all, the wife didn't even know the adapter was there until I showed her. The Harmony/adapter/PS3 remote control connection is probaby the most reliable of the 4.
It seems a little pricey...but there are MUCH more expensive methods out there.

Customer Review: If you own a PS3 and a Logitech Harmony Remote, you've been waiting for this.
Summary: 5 Stars

For all those that own a PS3 and a Logitech Harmony remote, there is no review required for this item. I own both, and I am relieved now that I own this product. It simply and seamlessly converts your Harmony Remote's RF signal to a Bluetooth signal (same used by your PS3 controller).

Is it pricey/over-priced? Absolutely! Is it worth the $59.99? Depends on how much you rely on your Harmony having the ability to control anything. I want my Harmony remote to control everything without restrictions, so i bought it . If you own this, does your Harmony remote now rule over all? Absolutely! If you believe, like I do, that your Harmony remote should continue to rule over all universal remotes in its category, you will buy this item and it will work for you as it continues to work for me.
