Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Harmony Adapter for PlayStation 3Customer Review: Great Item - works perfectly Summary: 5 Stars
so this was something that I was looking for a while now and was considering those other solutions like the IR2BT and IR4PS3 that both support power on and off but are pricey and are really hacks (I like hacks I love hacking things but if there is a real solution that works like I want it to then if I can afford it I try yo go that way)
now this works perfectly and I have had no problems with it at all, one gripe I have is it don't have the cable needed for the connection to the FR controller for my 890 but I got one of those anyways
I suggest you get this, if you don't have a Harmony remote its not sosposta work but you could get a used one for cheep or if you know one who has one and you like your other Universal remote that happens to have a learning function then all you have to do is learn it from the Harmony and it will work in that remote - I have done this with my MX350 remote from Universal Remote
Customer Review: Remote Convenience Summary: 5 Stars
I use this device with my Logitech Harmony One, and it has made using my PS3 to watch movies a much more pleasant experience.
It works exactly as advertised: use your universal remote to control your PS3. Mine sits atop my horizontally stationed PS3, and it's almost unnoticeable except for the small green LED power indicator.
The only problem I have had is that sometimes, when I trigger the 'Watch a DVD' activity, although the PS3 is powered on, the remote fails to function until the system is restarted. I have traced this problem to the PS3 itself, though. Apparently with the latest firmware update, sometimes when the PS3 is commanded to activate by a bluetooth device, the PS3's bluetooth stack does not fully initialize, causing all bluetooth devices to be unresponsive until the system is rebooted. In my experience, this problem occurs about 1 out of every 10 times I start the PS3 with a bluetooth device.
Customer Review: AWESOME! Summary: 5 Stars
I have a Harmony 650 remote and I press one button to watch my live TV on my HTPC, and one button to watch a BluRay. This adapter PERFECTLY and easily integrates, turns on, turns off, and controls, the PS3. Much better than buying the silly PS3 remote. It perfectly swaps all inputs on my tv, receiver, etc. And somehow, it knows which components are on, and doesn't just "toggle" their power. The Logitech remotes are simply amazing, and this adapter is a must have if you use your PS3 for Blu-Rays and you have a Logitech remoteLogitech Harmony 650 Remote (Silver). I like the 650 because it just uses standard AA's. It can control up to 5 components I believe. I have a Samsung DLP, my sony receiver, PS3 and my Windows 7 Media Center PC. I also had my DirecTV receiver at one point, but have since cancelled my service.
Customer Review: This thing works great Summary: 5 Stars
I've had a Logitech Harmony 880 remote for a few years now, and I've loved it. That remote controlled everything, except the PS3... Now with this adapter it finally does control all the audio/video equipment in the house. There's no leg or delay when using the remote to control the PS3 features. It turns the system on and off, it does everything that the PS3 Bluetooth remote does.
Being that my remote was a little older and I already had the PS3 set up in the remote (it just couldn't control anything, but was in the remote as one of the devices), I had to remove the PS3 from the "devices" using the Logitech software, the all I had to do was add the PS3 the my list of devices again, plug in my remote with the USB, and update it. Then everything worked fine. It says to do all that in the included directions, the come in the box.
I would recommend this to anyone with a Logitech Harmony remote and a PS3
Customer Review: Does exactly what it's meant to do Summary: 5 Stars
I own this product and I purchased it from Amazon. I will be reviewing the product and not Amazon.
The Logitech Harmony PS3 Adapter does exactly what it is designed to do, it allows you to control your PS3 with your Harmony remote. I'm not really sure what the reviewers who are giving this product a bad review were hoping that it would do, but it does exactly what it is supposed to do.
As for the price, when you want your system to work with one remote, who cares about $50 for an adapter? I have a modest home theater setup that I've put about $5,000 into and I know a lot of people out there have way more than that into their setup. For me, the price of this adapter was 1% of my total cost for my home theater setup, so I don't care that it cost $50.
Overall, I highly recommend this product as it does exactly what it's supposed to do.
