I just wanted to say that after one and a half months of having this thing, my original review stands. This device is perfect...does what it's supposed to, and i haven't had any issues
Let me preface by saying I've only had this for less than a week.
I held off on getting this for a while, because why spend the money when I have a perfectly good ps3 controller I can use?
First off, installation, easy as you can get. The only way it could be easier is if it got out of the box and walked over and installed itself. Plug in the power (love the no batteries part), pair it to the ps3 (so easy).
Second, That's it, it's ready to go. If you've already programed your Harmony, you can use it right away. If you haven't, program your harmony (pretty easy to do).
You don't need to buy this, but if you're wondering "How well can this really work?", rest assured my fellow Amazoners, it is legit.
I'm an IT person, so I'm used to assessing how easy things are to use for the average worker, and I can say that this definitely is easy to use.
Enjoy, and I'll try to update this after a month or so, if I remember.
Customer Review: If You Have a PS3 and a Harmony Remote, GET THIS!

If all you read is the first line of this review, just know that this is the best option for using a PS3 with a Harmony remote!
I have a Samsung TV, a Marantz Receiver, an OPPO DVD player, a VCR, a cable box, and of course a PS3. Before getting this adapter, I was able to control every one of these except for the PS3. Well, that's half-true, since I had a Nyko adapter for the PS3. At the time that I bought it, the Nyko was about the best option to control the PS3 with my universal remote. However, since then Logitech came out with this compact device that allows me to do so much more. In addition to what the Nyko allowed me to do, I am able to:
- Power up the PS3
- Power off
- Use subtitles without going into the on-screen display (triangle) menu
- Eject
- Use special buttons such as PS button, and also use any button available on the standard PS3 remote
The bottom line is: This adapter is a little expensive, but over the long run, well worth it. I use my PS3 nearly every day, and it's very handy to be able to power down the system along with the rest of my equipment. I would highly recommend this - the added convenience is well worth it!

I waited far too long to pull the trigger and purchase this adapter after getting my Logitech Harmony One Universal Remote with Color Touchscreen. Already having purchased the Sony PlayStation 3 Blu-ray Disc Remote and being completely satisfied with it's functionality, I was hesitant to spend the extra cash to purchase the adapter.
The first thing I noticed when opening and installing the Logitech adapter was the size of this little thing! It's tiny. Smaller than my cell phone. The next thing I noticed after the breeze of an installation, was the COVERAGE. I did not read this anywhere, but each time I use my Logitech One I am amazed how it ALWAYS picks up the signal as if the remote had suddenly become a bluetooth remote. I can literally have the thing behind my back as I face the TV and it will respond to my commands. My only wish is that the rest of my components responded as well as the PS3 does when using the Logitech Harmoney One with the Logitech Harmony Adapter!

This product works as advertised and I highly recommend it for anyone looking to use their Harmony remote (Harmony One in my case, which I had been using for over a year and which I also highly recommend) with their PS3. The only real drawback to this product is the price as there are a few cheaper partial solutions available, but this adapter implements all of the PS3 remote functions including on/off.
I had a little issue initially with the initial setup. After pairing the device with the PS3, I reprogrammed my remote following all of the instructions with Logitech's Harmony remote software (including removing existing PS3 profiles) but the PS3 and this adapter failed to show any reaction to the remote. I tried reprogramming the remote several times. Finally, merely unplugging and replugging the adapter was the solution. The adapter has operated flawlessly since then until now (early July 2010 to early September) with no resets required.
The adapter sits unobtrusively on my TV stand next to my PS3 and takes up very little space.
I highly recommend this adapter to provide the functionality that Sony left out of the PS3.
Customer Review: A competitively priced IR to BT converter.

It seems that many people don't research a product before they buy it. There are some complaints about the price of the Logitech Harmony adapter, but the fact remains that this is the lowest priced IR to BT solution available for the PS3. The direct competition ranges in price from ~$70 up to $160. If you're going to talk price, please compare apples to apples. The Nkyo Blu-wave is not even in the same ballpark as an IR to BT converter.
This product, Like the other currently available IR to BT converters, doesn't just give you power on/off control, it makes all 51 commands of the original Sony BT remote available to the user. IR to USB solutions, on the other hand, only give you access to a maximum of 31 commands. Yes, IR to BT costs more, but you gain substantially more from it as well.
The Logitech adapter is perfect for the niche that is was developed for- users who desire a fairly priced IR to BT solution allowing for full control of their PS3 using their Harmony remote. The purpose of a universal remote is to control your entire system, and this adapter adds the PS3, which has become an integral part of many a/v systems, to the mix.
