The Harmony 890 is a great universal remote for both types of people - those who get technology and those who don't. It is simple to set up. Just insert your model numbers and select a couple of options, and just like that, its easy. For those who want to go much more in depth, you can create your own activities, change options. But again, it is easy to do that. It is new so we haven't gotten used to where all the buttons are yet, but we will.
Definetely I recommend this remote. It is great!!!!

Got this remote from a recommendation from an AV installer friend. Was amazed how easy it was to program it. Just log into the website, answer questions as to what devices you want to control and what you want them to do and with a quick download it programs the remote. the infrared repeater works great in the setup I have. i have all my AV equip in the dead space in the basement and it turns on the devices needed and then performs all functions needed. great system... no offense to the gals that are techie out there, but I got this remote because my wife couldn't figure out how to handle the home theater and I am always on the phone with her when I travel walking her through how go from watching tv to watching a movie etc... Now it is a single push button and it all magically works for her. You can even program custom sequences and the remote has an assistant to make sure it all is working ok. I haven't had any issues at all and love this remote.Customer Review: Works better than advertised

I saw the refurbished deal and it was too good to pass up. I set it up in about 20 minutes and used the programming from my old 880 and it was off and running! It works perfectly! I had the Terk IR repeater on my system with the 880 and the terk caused the system to lock up on start up so we had to wait about a mintue for the components to respond. That isn't the case with the 890. It's awesome works every time. I highly reccomend it!Customer Review: Why Get anything else?

I flip'n love this remote. I have all my boxes hidden behind a wall, so I tried IR extenders, which looked really bad as they had to sit out next to the TV and they didn't work to well. So with this remote having RF and IR it was perfect for me to try. And I'm really happy with it. It is really responsive, works anywhere in my house and is simple to set up and use. If you are considering this remote you wont be disappointed.
