I have a basket of remotes that include two universal units purchased in recent years. Nothing was satisfactory and I had resigned myself to using one remote to turn on the cable box, another for the TV and another for the receiver and then the DVD.
I took one more chance after reading a review of the Harmony and I am certainly glad that I did. The set-up was relatively painless and after the firmware was updated, I programmed the remote for multiple items. When it was done I held my breath and pushed the "watch TV" button. It was a miracle to see the TV come on, select the correct input for the cable box and turn the cable box on all at the same time.
I had no problems with any of the electronics I programmed the Harmony to control, including a 14 year old, 13" color television.
The Harmony has brought harmony to my home and I've been telling all my friends who complain about the same remote control overload that I used to have.

Got the remote for christmas as it was on my list, and this is one item which will *not* be getting returned. Initially after set up I was a bit disappointed thinking that all of my various component's features were not supported (as I have several very new to market items like a Plasma and HD PVR), but after spending about an hour digging into the LCD menus and online configuring/tweaking, I discovered the remote *had* been programmed for *EVERY* feature available on the native remotes.
Another great feature was the ability for me to over-ride default button assignments on the remote, which are context sensitive, which resulted in a highly customized and fully functional master remote.
I think you get out of it what you put in, so as long as you dont expect to be up and fully running in 10 minutes and have some patience, this remote will finally allow you to take every other remote you own and retire them to the sock drawer.

I won't waste your time with a long detailed list of all the Harmony's features, you can find those all over. What I will tell you is that this remote is super easy to set up with on your computer, it found all of my home theater components and worked with them right off the bat. But probably the best feature it has is the little help button and a screen. The previous universal learning remote we owned worked great, except if you turned it slightly or happened to step in front of it while it was setting all the components properly for what you wanted to do, if one thing got messed up, it was a pain in the butt for anyone other than myself to fix. My wife didn't really care for it. But now I can leave her alone with the Harmony, knowing that if something got set to the wrong input/channel/etc. she can just hit the help button, and it walks her through what might be the problem, usually fixing it on it's own. This is my second Harmony remote. I was so impressed with the first one which I use in our great room area, that I bought a second to use in the theater room. It's wonderful to press one function button and have all the components that you need be prepared for whatever it is that you are wanting to do. A "TV" button turns on the set, the receiver, the cable box, and even selects the proper input for that action. The same goes for "Watch movie, Listen to CD, etc. The programming is a little time consuming, but easy, as it is all done on your computer. You simply take note of all your components, their model numbers, and how you want them to coordinate and fill in the blanks on Logitech's website. It then programs the remote via USB cable and you are ready to go.
This is so much faster and easier than playing hide and seek with several remotes. If you're in the market for a universal remote give this one serious consideration!

I've had universal remotes before. I've had learning remotes before. The problem has alsways been with the setup and then new technology. God forbid something happens and you lose all of your saved settings so that you have to start all over.
This remote is unbelievable! It took me about 10 minutes to get it setup but then I teaked it for another hour or so ;-) It didn't have to learn any of the commands for my Comcast DVR, my old mini stereo system, or my new Olevia tv. The database that Harmony has is extermely extensive. One button to control music, tv watching and DVD viewing is awesome. My wife and kids are able to use all the components without having to deal with three remotes.
If you have more than one remote for all of your devices in your living room search no further. This remote will control everything for you and at a great price. I could not be happier with this purchase.
