Have you ever gotten involved in a situation that has gone bad and no matter what you do, through nobody's fault it just keeps spiraling down.
First let me say, Amazon and Logitech have been great, the problems I encountered were not their fault and ultimately they all did the right thing.
To start I ordered a "manufacturers refurbished" Logitech Model 670 remote control from an Amazon Seller that it turns out was in Shanghai China. Apparantly the seller did not understand what "manufacturers refurb" meant. He sent me a used unit with no instructions and a defective software disc. After many hours on the phone and the internet, I was able to get it working. But in the process I decided to upgrade to a model 880. The same seller had an 880 so we agreed to swap (along with money from me). I wound up having to cancel and reorder from another seller.
Now the 880, is great, Logitech was most helpful on setting up the 670. when I swapped the 880 it just took a 5 minute phone call.
Everything works well the help menu comes in handy as the screen will walk you through any problems. It is most convenient being able to key an activity with one or two strokes.
One caution, I ran across an interesting tidbit about Logitech remotes. BE CAREFUL ordering "refurb" units from China, there are sellers that are apparantly selling knockoffs with bad software and no manuals. These are like buying "streetcorner Rolexes" for $20.00
I am not saying this is what happened to me, but I am glad it worked out the way it did.
