This remote is "awesome"! I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants the ease of one remote. My wife who is very technically challenged finds it very easy to use as well as my five year old son. Setting the remote up took 15 minutes. I recommend that you watch the tutorial. Make sure you write down the make and model numbers of your components. Also know what inputs your components are plugged into. The set up walks you through everything and then you download the commands into the remote. Honestly it took a total of about 15-20 minutes to set this up. You may have a problem with one of the commands when you first start using the remote but use the remote assistant and it corrects the command on the spot while operating your system. Again I can't say enough on how easy and user friendly this remote is. My wife loves that we now have one remote instead of 5 or 6 lying around. Those reviews that say it's the worst and they don't recommend it.....All I have to say is they must be complete IDIOTS!!!!Customer Review: the bashers are idiots

Ok so i have been reading plenty of bashing on this remote, but the people complaining obviously have no idea what they are talking about. I OWN a Home theater Installation company, I have programmed remotes costing much much more, but ANY harmony remote is a Good remote. Of course if you have never programmed a logitech or any other learning or macro remote, the task can be somewhat daunting, but I assure you there is nothing worng with the software or the remote, and if you pay attention during set up you will never ever ever need an owners manual, and even if you did, just call logitech, thier customer support is AMAZING, ill say it again CUSTOMER SUPPORT IS AMAZING. I have set up at least 30 harmony remotes and they are without a doubt the BEST bang for your buck 1touch remote.Hands down better then anything sitting next to it on the shelf. I feel so strongly about this that it prompted my very first review of anything on amazon, so enjoy, and take it slow you will have no trouble.Customer Review: This remote rocks!

I received this remote for Christmas this year and it is the greatest remote. It controls a Panasonic DLP tv, Onkyo receiver, Direct TV HD receiver, Panasonic DVD Recorder, and my blinds! Before my wife could never figure out how to switch the tv from satellite to DVD and now she's got it. I think the people that put a bad review on this, do not understand new technology. I have tried other name brand remotes before this and none of them compare. The setup was extremely easy and the fact that it has a docking station is such a good idea. My last universal remote ran through batteries once a week because of the video display. I would highly recommend. The only thing to add is the fact that it will not control the Playstation 3 without buying an additional device to convert the bluetooth to IR. I am still trying to figure out if this remote can control my ceiling fan which I do not think it can because of the RF technology it uses but everything else is great.Customer Review: A Great Product that is easier to use! ***** 5 BIG STARS

I have owned the Harmony 880 model for a bit over a year for my main TV and stereo system. It was difficult to tweak but after several attempts at programming it works like a charm. Today my Harmony 1000 arrived and I was expecting similar issues, particulary due to the fact that this was for my theatre with a projector and more complex components. IT WAS A BREEZE TO PROGRAM! In less than an hour from opening the box, I was enjoying both device controls as well as lighting controls for my theatre. I can't be more impressed with this model, the style, size, button size and layout make this a big improvement over the prior model. YES the price is more than twice what I paid for the 880, but worth every dime! I had no isssues with programing my devices, cable, projector, DVR, AV Receiver and DVD, including my lighting dimmers. WOW this is the quickest I have ever enjoyed a long awaited arrival! Hats off to Logitech for doing this one right!Customer Review: Great remote, very happy with it

I have a new Harmony 1000. I initially set it up to work only with IR and it performed perfectly. However, when I attempted to set up the RF extender I kept getting an error message indicating that it could not update the region. There were several similar reports in the Logitect forums. I spent some time on the phone with Logitech's Level 1 support, without success, who finally told me that it seemed to be a Logitech database problem. They handed me off to Level 2 support who confirmed that it is apparently a problem on their end, but then walked me through the setup and pairing. Now everything works perfectly. The Logitech Level 2 technician was incredibly knowledgeable.
Although I have had my Harmony 1000 only since Christmas and have not yet had the opportunity to put it through a real stress test, or get too exotic with the programming, thus far it works great and does everything that it is suposed to do.
