Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech G9 Laser MouseCustomer Review: Wow! This mouse has everything! Summary: 5 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
By far the Logitech G9 is THE best gaming mouse I've ever used.
I love Logitech products so I was totally stoked to get to try the G9. They did a great job and it has an unbelievable amount of useful features.
First off, the shape of the mouse itself: it's has a great ergonomic feel and is incredibly comfortable. To top that off it has an additional grip so you can use either the wider, smooth grip or the more slender grip that comes coated with a "DryGrip" material that's supposed to help wick away sweat from your palms during long gaming sessions.
It comes with adjustable weights, a set of eight, so you can customize your mouse weight to work best with your playing preferences and needs.
It also has a wired mouse, which I much prefer to a wireless. I've had wireless mouse batteries go dead at the worst moments!
It has a great 'MicroGear' scroll wheel, a forward and back thumb button which I loved, and adjusts all the way up to 3200 dpi.
It's fast, fantastic and highly recommended!

The G9 is for ppl that hold their mouse with fingers and not palm it. I used a G5 for the last year+ and didn't realize thats how I hold the mouse when I game. You have to download the drivers for this mouse from Logitech and don't have to uninstall the old drivers. I like the fact that the mouse can store 5 profiles internally. So, you can take the mouse anywhere, plug it in and pow you have your profiles on any PC. The light on the mouse has an unknown number of different colors. anything you want. I set it Red for BF2 and light blue for BF2142, Green for ARMA and blue for general use. The large pads allow it slide effortlessly. I personally don't have any weight in it and use the larger soft rubber cover instead of the smaller hard micro grip cover. Can set Dots per inch as high as 3200 with usb polling to 1000 times a second.
The wheel is nice and lite but with a slight click you can feel. Better than any mouse I've ever had. Doesn't have the problem where I'm touching the wheel and cause it to shift weapons without actually clicking it. Its also adjustable so it just spins when scrolling large documents without clicking.
It was definately worth it. At first I still used my G5 for daily use but now its just the G9 all day and every where I go.
Customer Review: Great mouse Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great mouse for people with large hands. It is big enough where my palm can rest on the back of the mouse, but even people with small hands can still use it. I really like the textured grip. I have sweaty hands, but I never lose my grip on this mouse.
You might think that it is weird to add weight to a mouse and when I first started using it, I didn't use any. After a few weeks I added some weight, then added more again. I am up to 11 grams now and the added weight really makes small movements easy.
The DPI sensitivity is something I had to get used to. I was coming from a really old mouse, and was not used to such precise movements. I started out with the DPI set kind of low and worked my way up to 2800, and I should probably move up again.
I really like the fact that I can adjust the horizontal and vertical speed movement. Because I use a wide-screen monitor and had little room on my mouse pad, I have the horizontal speed set much higher then the vertical movement speed.
The only thing I would change, is to move the on-the-fly DPI buttons to under the 4 and 5 mouse buttons. This would make changing much easier. Might be just me, but I also like a stiffer left and right mouse button.
Customer Review: Built for Gaming!!! Summary: 5 Stars
First off this mouse is great as it feels so comfy in the palm of your hand. The buttons are large so you don't have to find the "sweet spot" to click when in a firefight playing a FPS game. I game hard and usually kill the left button on any mouse I use.
I had a few cheap generic mice before getting this bad boy and all I can say is waw......the sensitivity is ridiculous to the point where I had to adjust it down a bit. This was such a breeze as the program that it comes with is pretty straight forward. It took me less that 2 mins to set this up and I even changed the colour of the led lights on the mouse (pretty cool feature by the way).
The material that coats the mouse make it a joy to use. It doesn't get sweaty or greasy and my fingers are always at home on it.
The larger than normal scroll wheel is a God send as I have large long fingers. Almost threw my old cheap mouse outside many times due to the crappy scroll wheel.
This mouse is a nobrainer for anyone looking for something different, functional (be it gaming or general use) and most importantly you have options as to the interchanging grips and the dpi settings.
Best mouse I've ever owned.....period
Customer Review: Quality Mouse Summary: 5 Stars
Being a peripheral fan, I've been subject to a lot of different mice as I try new ones every 6 months or so. Well the G9 was a pleasant surprise and a thankful addition to my permanent mouse collection of two. First things first, this thing is really a quality item. The buttons click with ease and are not noisy. This gives them a really smooth and expensive feel to button clicking, making overall mouse usage a pleasure. The additional grips and weights are a nice touch for those who want the most from their mouse but what I've noticed and liked most is the shape and low profile of the mouse. At first this was a bit awkward since I was used to bigger full sized mice with high arches to support the palm of my hand. However, those mice made my hands sweat all the time and the heat and moisture always left me less than comfortable. With this mouse, my palm does not touch the mouse but rather hovers over it. This was odd at first but after getting used to it I prefer it. Now my hands never sweat and it actually takes less effort to move the mouse. There are also some other outstanding features to the mouse, notably the microgear hyper scrolling feature that I cannot live without now. All in all, highly recommended.
