Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech G9 Laser MouseCustomer Review: Great Claw Mouse Summary: 5 Stars
I've been using this for two months now. It was a bit uncomfortable when I first got it but got used to it in hours and nothing else feels as good as the G9. This is probably the best for any claw user. It would probably be a little too small for a palm grip user. The wide grip is also made of a very smooth material, so it's really nice to just have your hand resting on it. The extra features like a button to change sensitivity, different profiles, frictionless scroll, etc. are all nice but really unnecessary. I haven't used any of the weights either. Obviously, I haven't been using the mouse to its fullest potential, and would not merit a $70+ price tag to me, but I paid less than 20 for it is a great value for what I'm using it for. It's nice to know I have those extra features if I ever need it. Probably only the most hardcore gamers would find the $70+ value in it. The setpoint software is also very easy to use and allows a lot of customization. I haven't had any trouble with it at all.
The only real complaint I have is the middle click (scroll button) is harder to press than other mice. It requires a good amount of force to push down, but after some usage it has either gotten looser or I have gotten used to pressing the middle harder. Also, the wire is made of a fabric so it's like rope rather than what a typical wire is made out of. Not really a problem, I just found that weird.
Overall, it's a great claw mouse, and I would recommend it for anyone who doesn't want to settle for less and willing to pay the price.
Customer Review: It dosen't get better than this! Summary: 5 Stars
Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
This mouse has everything you need for easy, comfortable game play! If you are a serious gamer you will certainly appreciate all of the features that this mouse offers.
Have more than one gamer that shares the same computer or you want to use your mouse when you play at a freinds house? Not a problem with this mouse! Being able to save 5 different settings will come in handy and allow you to sit down, switch to your setting and go.You can store up to 5 settings for this. Also the plug and play is awesome! Every mouse should come with this feature,it makes switching from one computer to another hasstle free.
Being able to switch the scrolling wheel from a click (so you will never pass up an item from a selection screen agin!) to smooth for scrolling when you don't need as much precision.
Even though there are removable and interchangable parts (grips and weights) This is a very sturdy mouse!I really love the fact that you can interchange the grips to customize the mouse to fit you.I know you have bought a mouse that you loved the precision but it felt either too big or small, not anymore!Made for everyone!
Highly recommended to anyone looking for a serious mouse for serious game play!
Customer Review: Great Gaming Mouse!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I just got this mouse and I have noticed a big difference in speed and precision over my MX518 and the G5. Not only is this bad boy more accurate and faster then both of those mice, it is also highly customizable. I am amazed at the amount of things you can do with it. Like the G5, there is a weight system here and you can switch the DPI on the fly. The profiles are excellent and its awesome how you can assign each profile a different dpi color. I am using this mouse with a Razer Mantis Control and haven't had any skipping issues whatsoever. It is so smooth and accurate. It really is hard to miss those shots now (CS) and it'll be the same for all the other games. The only cons I have for the G9 is the price and the way that you switch profiles. Besides that, this mouse is really the best bang for your buck. Its expensive but its worth every single penny.
Pros:
-3200 DPI Laser Engine
-Interchangeable grips (2 included and more to be on sale)
-Feels perfect and completely natural
-Improved weight system
-Store several profiles on mouse for use on other computers (no software needed)
-Change DPI settings on the fly and there colors as well
-MicroGear Scrolling Wheel
-Amazing polytetrafluoroethylene feet
-Looks incredibly sexy
Cons:
-Have to flip the mouse to change the profile and scrolling wheel
-The price but this is leet
Customer Review: Really good, use it without the weights an grips Summary: 5 Stars
Had this for a couple months now and love it. I thought the weights would be a good idea so i tried a bunch of different combinations and it turns out i like it best with no weights, so the mouse is as light as possible. Why would you want more weight to push around and strain your wrist even more? It doesn't make you any more precise.
Also with the two included covers you can put over it to make the grip different, I tried both of those and actually like it best with neither of them on. None of the pictures show it like that because I don't think its intended to be used like that but its great.
The laser is super accurate, on dark or light colored surfaces, and anything I have put it on. The teflon pads on the bottom are huge so it moves really smooth on most surfaces. The sensitivity buttons are in a really good place, and I have never hit them by accident.
The braided fabric cable is plenty long and really durable.
The only downside is the scroll wheel is a little hard to push down for a middle click. This might cause you to accidentally roll the wheel when trying to middle click, which is bad in games because it will make you switch guns just at the wrong time. But if you are a former G7 user like me, then you have learned to compensate for it, and its not a problem.
Best mouse I have ever used period. Try to get it when it goes on sale.
Customer Review: Best Gaming Mouse on the Market for Claw-stye Gamers Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this mouse after my trusty Logitech MX1000 Laser Cordless Mouse stopped reliably charging. I was really into World of Warcraft raiding at the time, and became extremely frustrated as my mouse would seem to always die at the most crucial part of an instance. I needed a new wired mouse, and was about to buy the Razer DeathAdder 3G Infrared Gaming Mouse but I then found the G9. It seemed perfect. Customizable weights, 2 interchangeable grips, on the fly sensitivity adjustment, and Logitech's awesome MicroGear scroll wheel. I ordered it despite many reviewers hating its ergonomics, as I would much rather buy a Logitech mouse than a Razer one.
Pros:
Just about everything.
Cons:
Not great for gamers who grip their mouse with their entire palm. If you're looking for a palm grip mouse, I recommend the Logitech Gaming Mouse G500 (Black/Silver) The color changing LED feature is a bit lame as mixed colors look odd. The Wide Load grip doesn't feel good to my hand, although it's the one I preferred at first.
