Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard (Black/Silver)

Customer Review: Logitech G-11 Keyboard
Summary: 5 Stars

Pros: keys have excellent feel and the program keys make flying Microsoft FSX much easier

Cons: Blacklighting could be a litle brighter on the high setting but still very adequate for flying at night with only ilumination from the monitor'

Purchased for the blacklighting and programable key features and has not disappointed. Keyboard dimensions w/o wrist rest 21.5 W x 8.5 deep. I had to re-adjust my pull out plastic keyboard tray to accodomate the depth. My old keyboard was 6.0 deep and I needed the new one to clear the desk overhang to allow access to the very top controls. I rarely use the top controls and could have left the old tray in its original position.

The back lighting is blue and has 2 brightness levels along with off and the adjustment key is above the F-12 function key. The wrist rest is easily detached and since I do not type other than emails I have not installed it as the additional depth would have added another 2-3 inches.

It's a great gaming keyboard especially for Flight Sim use

Customer Review: G11 review.

I was torn between the Saitek Eclipse 2, Microsoft Reclusa, and the Logitech G11 keyboards. I was unable to locate any of them locally to compare with one another except for the Saitek 2 which I did not like. Its illumination is more like someone removed the bottom of the board and shined a neon up through the keys. It lights up everything and I wanted a board that just had the letters and numbers light up. I went with the Logitech and am very glad I did. It looks great, installed just by plugging it in,and was a good fit colorwise for the rest of my gear. The shape, stroke, sound, feel and spacing of the keys is perfect for me. Had I found one locally it would have been a no questions asked purchase. What I saw as far as the illumination goes, was what looked like a strange pattern of keys that didn't light up. Every site I looked at,not to mention the actual box it comes in makes it appear this way. In reality, the entire board lights up in blue ,straight through the key designations just like I wanted. I just hope it's made as well as it looks lasts a long time.

Customer Review: Comfortable, Useful, Simply the best keyboard ever.

It doesn't have the bells and whistles of it's older brothers, it doesn't have the flash that other boards have, but if your looking for a gaming upgrade to your run of the mill board that came with your computer, this is it. Macros on the side made me buy this board for multiboxing and fragging people faster, but I've found it's a very comfortable typing keyboard too. It looks solid, works well, and even after my first G11 met an untimely end with a full cup of coffee (almost no keyboard can survive that, and it even still worked - till I needed to use an n,m, or comma), I looked around for about a day and came right back and bought another G11.

The G15 and G19 have less macro buttons, the reason I bought the G11 in the first place, and who needs an LCD screen on the keyboard? I have dual monitors as it is. Keep it simple and effective and I'm sold. It'll be a sad day when they discontinue this model. Other boards just didn't have the smoothness and comfort, sacrificed for design. The G11 is big, but it's a no nonsense board.

Customer Review: Excellent for the Gamer and Internet User

This is the best keyboard I have used. The price range is just about right for this keyboard. The keys themselves are very soft and very nice to type with and they light up blue with 2 different dim levels. You can turn them off if you want to , but then you can't see the keys unless it's really light in the room. It has a nice volume control with cd play controls. It has so many customizable G buttons that you won't find enough things to run them with. I have used some as my email address and I just push like G1 and it types it in. This is nice if you type your email or name a lot in forms. It has 2 USB ports on the top which you can attach USB anything which is great, best thing I've seen on a keyboard. This is just a great keyboard overall and definately worth investing into if those cheap 10 logitch and microsoft keyboards keep breaking on you, or you need a great gaming keyboard.

Customer Review: Perfect keyboard
Summary: 5 Stars

I was looking for a new keyboard to replace my wireless one since I was getting tired of lost connections and changing batteries (I know not everyone has these problems are cares about this, but wired is my personal preference).

This keyboard is great. I have yet to find a game that I really need to use the extra 18 keys off to the left of the keyboard, but it can never hurt to have extra. The only thing I will warn about is that it took me a little bit to get used to typing. The keys are just a tiny bit closer together, and I use the Escape button often so I just automatically reached for the top left of the keyboard and hit G1 instead of Escape. Not a big deal since it did not do anything though.

My favorite feature is the backlite keys. I can now easily type in the dark without a problem. There is also a toggle to turn the lights off or have them dim.
