I do not purchase high-end flight sticks; in the past, I have owned joysticks similar to this one, but never with as many features. You really get more than you pay for with this stick.
The rudder control (twist axis) is an absolute necessity. The throttle control is very handy. I have had NO trouble whatsoever with this joystick - not one calibration issue (heck, I didn't even have to calibrate it). The only way to make this joystick better would be to add force feedback - but who needs that.

I hate to see 3 stars on this product. I think this has to do with the lack of forcefeedback and bluetooth. Disregard if you don't need those things. I grew tired of expensive joysticks breaking and the force feedback not working as advertised. I bought this joystick on sale and I have to say, the things is undestructable. The joystick works great in Linux. If you are looking for a joystick that just works and is supported in Linux, Windows, and Mac...this is for you. Install the drivers first (just takes a minute) then plug in the joy stick. I bought for flying the jets in BF2. Way better than a keyboard and mouse. Went in to the game and set the axis' and the buttons up (don't forget to check the invert mouse tick!) and was doing loops and rolls immediately! The throttle is a MUST HAVE for flying the jets slower than full speed to do manuevers on the maps in BF2. With a little practice I'll be an Ace Flyboy in no time, thanks to this joy stick.Customer Review: Fantastic for the price

Though this was my first joystick purchase, I've used similar joysticks in the same price range and this joystick makes all of those look bad. Its wide base really doesn't allow it to tip over and it has plenty of buttons. But what I'm most satisfied with is how the joystick feels, It gives resistance when you're pushing the stick around and it feels very smooth. This joystick really doesn't look or feel cheap at all. I bought this joystick as a replacement for an old Microsoft Sidewinder Pro. I use it primarily for flight simulator games. I like the layout of the buttons. The stick centers well and has a fair amount of spring tension which I think prevents overcontrolling. The heavy base has a wide stance and rubber pads in the corners to prevent sliding during one-handed operation. It feels solid and sturdy. The software loaded easily on my pc with Windows xp. An excellent value.
