Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Cordless TrackMan WheelCustomer Review: A mouse replacement for everyone Summary: 5 Stars
Since my first computer in 1992 I have used a mouse and never really had any strong opinions about it. I loved it for gaming, and it worked great for everything else. After I started getting inner elbow pain which appeared to be from placing my hand in the same position as required by a mouse, I decided I would give using a trackball a shot to see if the pain went away. Sure enough it did, and the comfort and ease of this trackball is certainly undeniable. I am not saying your pain will go away, but I know it is a lot smoother and more comfortable to use this rather than a mouse.
And gamers, don't worry. I am using a trackball for FPS games and it works just as well. As one reviewer said, it takes a day or two to use, and then you just feel disappointed whenever you have to use a mouse.
I love this. Buy a trackball. The cordless is nice, it uses batteries quickly. I am probably going to buy a wired one for work soon.
Customer Review: Great Trackball Summary: 5 Stars
This is the second Logitech wireless trackball I have owned, and along with the three wired versions of the same thing, they all rate as top-notch items with me. The wireless versions are used with my laptop when I travel (I actually left one at a field office where I spend a lot of time, to save a few cubic inches of packing space, hence the second wireless trackball). The wired versions are in my office on other machines I use. Both of the wireless models are still on their first battery after more than a year of use. They are great. Unlike some of the reviewers, I don't see the corded "hub" included as a problem. I just don't take it with me. It stays in the office attached to my docking station. It isn't necessary, and is just a convenience if your USB plug is hard to reach (on my docking station, it is on the back against the wall. So don't worry about the hub, just carry the dongle by itself on trips. First-class product.
Customer Review: The pinnacle of design and function Summary: 5 Stars
I have used this item for at least five years and found it to be just perfect. The design is a clear case of form following function. It allows me to work faster, longer and more accurately at the computer. The device is very comfortable to use, even for long periods.
Aesthetically, I think it has a timeless elegance and simplicity of design that never looks dated or trendy.
I recently contacted Logitech with a service issue - more related to Windows than the device I think. I was connected quickly to a real person that was helpful and not rushed. We tried a few different things as he walked me through some troubleshooting. We were unable to resolve the problem, but he sent me a brand new trackball "just in case". Wow!
We also have one of their cordless keyboards that has also been a real pleasure. The software for it seems a little quirky and perhaps ill-mannered however.
Customer Review: perfect for limited space Summary: 5 Stars
I love this trackball mouse. I have been using Trackman Marble Wheel version for the past few years. It was great also, but with limited desk space at work, the Cordless version is better. With a keyboard, calculator and books/binders/papers needed on my desk, it is easy to get the mouse out of the way and still use it. My next goal is a cordless keyboard! The only complaint that I have is that the "wheel" button from the Cord to Cordless has been reduced in space. It used to occupy a almost full size button space, and now only the wheel itself is placed in between the R and L buttons. Your hand used to be able to rest with index, middle and ring finger on L, Wheel, and R buttons. Now, you really can only use your index and middle fingers on the R and L and move one of them to the wheel when you need it. I do not find it as comfortable. But, I can live with that inconvenience in comparison with the benefits.
Customer Review: Great Wireless Trackball Summary: 5 Stars
I have both the wireless and the wired version of this trackball. I really like the ergonomics of the trackball. I have used it with many PC desktops and laptops and have never had any problems. I have not installed any software, just plug in the USB cable and it works. The thumb operation allows for quick movements. For example, in a first person game you can just flick your thumb and spin around 180 degrees. I have used the mouse for games, CAD, and word processing. The mouse does require some cleaning, but not often. The ball is supported at three points by small plastic pieces. Dirt builds up on these pieces and the ball moves with more resistance. To clean under the ball, just pop it out and clean, then pop the ball back in. The trackball only uses one AA battery. The range is pretty good, 15 feet with newer batteries. I have used it for presentations with good success. I am very happy with this product.
