Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Cordless TrackMan WheelCustomer Review: Love It! Summary: 5 Stars
I love the trackball! I owned the corded version years ago (unfortunately it went MIA during a move) and I never did get around to replacing it until I purchased a laptop. While there is a rather long cord to the receiver, a twisty tie alleviates that problem that so many others had with it effectively. As far as the size of the receiver, it isn't any bigger than receivers from any other wireless mouse I have worked with. Just remember this mouse is made to be compatible with both desktop and laptop; that's probably part of the reason for the longer cord and the receiver. While the trackball does take some getting used to if you have never used one before, I find that the set up of this accessory is comfortable and more precise to work with then a regular mouse. As far as issues I read in other reviews, i.e. drivers, and thumb soreness: I didn't even use the enclosed software, but just plugged in to the laptop; the thumb soreness goes away after you get used to the trackball. I am pleased as punch that I finally have a trackball again!
Customer Review: nice relief for carpal tunner suffer Summary: 5 Stars
I work all day in front of a computer. I have been feeling strain in my forearms and wrists, especially on the right side.
Uh oh, the dreaded carpal tunnel!
I needed to get something to relieve the pain and to prevent any permanent damage (hopefully, I'm not too late!). My workstation is ergonomically sound (keyboard tray with negative angle, proper monitor height, good chair, etc.). The mouse and keyboard have been causing problems.
I first tried the 3M Ergonomic Mouse. This provided some relief, but still having to move my arm around caused strain.
This mouse is much better. It allows me to leave my hand and arm in a comfortable position. The trackball is very easy to use. I was up and running rather quickly. It only took me about a day to get used to it.
If you are feeling strain in your wrists and arms, then I would highly recommend getting this product.
Now all I need is a better keyboard...
Customer Review: The left handed are tools of the devil Summary: 5 Stars
It is true--those who went to a Catholic school soon learned. But, a lefty HAS to learn to use their right hand well to survive. I'm 70, still build and do systems for fun and profit. The thing to know is that persons who try to live lefthanded have a life expectency 10+ yrs less than righties. I have used the TrackMan since it came out and ALWAYS with my RIGHT hand. As was said it leaves your "good" hand for writing and other tasks. I also bat and play golf right handed, but throw with left and shoot expert with EITHER hand. The TrackMan is excellent for two reasons: It doesn't "run off the edge" and it "doesn't care if there are cookie crumbs on the table". Warning for confirmed lefties--don't use a Circle Saw unless you find a left one--it is THE MOST DANGEROUS TOOL. Oh yes, I was in charge of a physical accident insurance claims dept. for 15 yrs. and KNOW the statistics, and have taught them to my several children and grand children.
Customer Review: Great Cordless Trackball Summary: 5 Stars
I've been a long time fan of Logitech's line of 'Marble' trackballs. Their touch and feel just suit me to a T and they provide the great mouse control that others have never attained in my opinion.
The only downside to the design in my opinion is that the ball now snaps into place, where the older versions had a locking coller that allowed easier removal for cleaning. But having said that, this line of trackballs is very tolerant of dirt. I've actually purposely abused one to see how it held up and the only indication that it needs cleaned is the ball will take more efffort to move (but a very small differnce), but it still worked perfectly otherwise. Then you just remove the ball and clean the three contact point inside (they will usually only need to have the dirt knocked off) and you're back in business.
This will continue to be the only pointing devices I use, whether wired or wireless like this one. Well worth the price.
Customer Review: I love this trackball Summary: 5 Stars
Four years ago I changed from the standard mouse to the wired version of this trackball. Yes, it took 2 days or so to get used to it, but then it became second nature. I love not having to pick up the mouse to get the cord out of the way, or running out of room or off of the mouse pad. With this wireless trackball and my wireless keyboard, I set my laptop on my coffee table and kick back on my couch doing all of my work and internet surfing. I've never had any problems with this model, in fact, I own three at home and one at work. The three at home, one for my laptop, my wife's laptop, and my kids' computer. I hope they never discontinue this style, for it is the most comfortale to use. If you're still using a regular mouse, it's time to try out a trackball. Again, it takes a day or two to get used to, but you will not be sorry. I just can't wait for a bluetooth version of this trackball so that I don't have to plug the receiver into a USB port.
