Customer Review: Pointing device for a Cluttered Desk.
Summary: 5 Stars

This is the best pointing device that I have ever used on any computer. My desk is usually very cluttered and I end up with limited space for a conventional mouse-in fact most of the mice I have used get pushed around quite a bit. With the Trackman I just leave it in one place. I can find it almost without looking and it's shape is so comfortable that I no longer need gel pads or other supports for my wrist. The placement of the optical type ball in relation to the buttons is so natural that it is like resting my hand on the arm of a chair. The fact that the unit is wireless also makes it convenient to set the transmitter unit on my chair and kick back and still be able to surf the web, read and navigate varoius documents. Battery life seems to be excellent-after one month I am still using the battery that was shipped with the unit. The only fault I have with the unit so far is the receiver. It has an overly long cord to plug into your USB port that kind of negates the advantage of the wureless transmitter. I dealt with this by coiling the excess and wiretying it out of he way. Overall the unit lives up to it's specifications and is a good representation of the quality that I have come to expect from Logitech.

Customer Review: Great mouse replacement
Summary: 5 Stars

First, I have big hands, I'm 6'4" and easily palm a basketball, this Trackman is comfortable, though still a little small. I replaced my Trackball corded mouse for this Trackman and have not been disappointed. I work as a CPA, so I need the scroll wheel for moving up and down spreadsheets, and liked it so much I bought one to use at work as well. I really don't see how anyone can survive without the scollwheel and wireless mousing in an office environment, especially if your cube isn't so big, or you need large amounts of space for all that wasteful paper! I enjoy wireless mice, and not needing any more space than the footprint of the mouse is a definate plus for the Trackman. The only problem is the whining of the IT staff trying to figure it out when they come out on a desk call, better keep that back up mouse! Overall a great device, If you have large hands, I have to knock off a star for sizing, and for the rest of you, it is a solid device, I've used for over a year at work with absolutely no problems. I would prefer it have a recharger rather than a straight battery, but the incovenience is insignificant.

Customer Review: Trackball strategy for a 60 year-old
Summary: 5 Stars

I purchased this trackball to replace my mouse, as I had been having increasing problems with numbness in my arm from stretching to reach the mouse. I hoped that switching to the trackball would allow me to keep my arm closer to my body, relieving the strain.

That has worked but I did not consider that, at 60 my hands/fingers are a little bit shaky and, unlike some other reviewers who easily adapted to the trackball, I continue to have problems getting the insertion point just where I want it, giving me problems with click/drag operations, editing, etc.

I am still learning and my accuracy is improving as I try to learn the new skills.

Final note - one reviewer said the device isn't truly wireless. I suppose that's true but it is as wireless as I expected. I plugged the receiver into the computer, placed it on the desk near my phone and can move the trackball pretty much anywhere I want it.

The device works as advertised but if you are not as "steady" as you once were, you might want to consider if going to a trackball is the step you want to take.

Customer Review: Logitech TrackMan -- LOVE IT!!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my second Cordless TrackMan and I LOVE IT!! No more sore wrist from picking up and manuevering a regular mouse and your hand just drapes on top. I can't go anywhere without it. My first one traveled to the 4 corners of the earth and back and worked for years. My 2 year old was the one who finally got the best of the mouse (apple juice and electronics do not mix well) and I had to purchase a new one. Got it quickly, batteried it up, and I've been going ever since! Although the mouse does tend to heat up, it's only after I've been using it for hours -- I'm a computer nerd -- but that is to be expected. The unit does not emit any heat, but it does retain the heat from my hot sweaty hand. I clean it regularly with Clorox wipes until the logo disappears and it still works wonderfully. Highly recommended for those die-hard computer wizards!
P.S. For some reason, gamers do not adapt to this as well as the "old fashioned" mouse. My first TrackMan was tested by a 20 yr old, 17 year old and a 15 year old, and they all wanted the old mouse back. Some habits are hard to change. . .

Customer Review: Logitech "Cordless" TrackMan and USB Receiver
Summary: 5 Stars

I started computing with DOS 2.1 and when the Mouse came out I hated it.

I loved the TrackBall from first use. Especially for gaming! I don't need Desk Space to slide it around. I can lean back in my chair with the TrackMan in my lap and do everything I need. Try that with a Mouse.

My first Logitech TrackBall, in the early '90s, had a cord. It spoiled me.
My 2nd, 3rd and 4th (the one I have now) are "Cordless" RF designs.

I emphasize "Cordless" because there is a 3 foot Cord on the USB Receiver.
The Cord and Receiver are not a problem for me. I keep the Cord bound with a Velro Wire Tie.
See the picture I posted at the beginning of this product's page.

My son took my first TrackBall. My second, a Cordless unit, broke after years of being dropped. My current units are five and six years old.

The ergonomic design fits the palm of my hand perfectly. The Ball, Buttons and wheel are intuitively placed and it is Easy to clean.

I like this product so much I bought one for use at work.
