Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 with Vibration Feedback (Black)Customer Review: The Best PC GamePad Summary: 5 Stars
This gamepad provides a lot of features and is well worth installing the Profiler driver software that comes with it. You can start any game you have installed in your PC with the Profiler software and can set each game to use their own indiviual custom control settings.
One of the best features of the Profiler software is the ability to alter and rotate the Axis settings on both analog sticks of the gamepad. It is very useful for older games that have an Axis compatability problem with most modern controllers using the right analog stick (ex. Up is Left, Left is Down, Down is Right, and Right is Up).
The 8 way digital pad is very precise and the controls can be swapped with the left analog stick with the push of a button. There are 12 action buttons to use and program on the gamepad, 4 buttons on the right, 2 buttons on the middle, 4 shoulder buttons and 2 analog stick buttons. The 2 additional buttons in the middle are for Mode and Force Feedback. The force feedback is strong and can be adjusted.
Weight in the gamepad is balanced. Not too light and not too heavy.
Wireless play and long battery life is a plus running 2 AA batteries. It also comes with 2 AA batteries in the box. The battery compartment closes and locks in place tight. The reciever has a corded USB which is great for Desktop use.
This is a great PC gamepad and highly reccommended above all others.
Customer Review: Best gamepad around Summary: 5 Stars
I'm not generally a fan of wireless controller, for one simple reason. I don't need the wireless feature, and I'd prefer to not think about batteries. However, I was not about to pass up the $20 after rebates price on this pad.
This button arrangement of this pad perfectly fits Madden 2005, enhancing gameplay immensely over other pads that may require you to remember what button correspond to what in the manual. (Madden 2005 allows you to configure your gamepad, but the configuration does not work for all phases of the game, e.g., the snap, and the receivers may be labelled differently than set up in Madden 2005's button configuration utility.)
True, the gamepad lacks Force-Feedback in Madden 2005 - so does every other game controller. MADDEN 2005 PC DOES NOT SUPPORT FORCE-FEEDBACK FOR ANY GAMEPAD, PERIOD. That's EASport's fault, not Logitech's.
For the person with the calibration problems after replacing batteries, try unplugging the receiver unit from the USB port and plugging it back in.
If you want to play Madden 2005, and have no intention of playing games with Force-Feedback, but by the non-Forceback version of this gamepad, unless you get a deal. Similarly, unless you get a deal on this gamepad, or you really want or need wireless, get the wired version of this gamepad.
Customer Review: A GREAT cordless Summary: 5 Stars
I got these about a month ago and have finally been able to sit down on the couch and play...I'm not a big video gamer but love to play old arcade games that run with "MAME" emulator...I had a difficult time loading both controls for 2 player games and contacted Logitech support..They basically told me there is no way of doing this...So after doing a little research I found a very small program out on the internet called "Xpadder". This program allows you to load up to 16 controls at the same time and map all the keys...Xpadder is not totally user friendly but after getting used to it, it's actually quite easy to use...
Pro's
cost isnt too bad..This is the cheapest I have been able to find them when they were actually in stock...Many sites listed them cheaper but none had them in stock...They don't feel cheap at all and just heavy enough to know your holding them and not get tired of it...They seem to be very well built with a sturdy feel and weight..I loaded them with just letting Windows find them without using the supplied driver disk...
Con's
Like I said the only one I can find is the trouble I had loading both controls for 2 player games but
"Xpadder" saved the day..
Customer Review: Durable, works! Great Value! Summary: 5 Stars
After connecting my desktop via HDMI to my 42" Sony Bravia 3LCD I wanted to play my PC games (and N53 EMU games!) at high-res just like my PS3. This is the answer.
The Software could be more graphic, I don't like the long menus you have to click through to assign the buttons. The directions are crap, the booklet is useless and it took me some time and frustration to set up. But, that being said, the controler is great.
Put simply, you have to click on a control, add a command, then press assign a name for the button and press the key on your keyboard to assign. You have to use a seperate interface for your mouse.
In the end I set it up like the PS3 controller. But you have to set up each and every game. It works real well once done. This is a heavy, solid, sturdy unit.
My one issue, no rechargable battery. A simple USB recharger would have been perfect for this.
I would aslo recomend a simple interface, have a graphic of the controller, click on a buton, assign a commnad, move on.
This worked perfect with games like "Clive Barker's Jerhico" and "Zelda 64" using the Project 64 Emu.
Buy it! It's the best PC control out there.
Customer Review: Rock solid, a joy to use Summary: 5 Stars
I upgraded to this from a Logitech Precision USB gamepad (which in itself is a fantastic buy) and couldn't be happier. I basically grew tired of being teethered to my PC, even though the Precision's cord is plenty long, it's still a hassle. Now after just a few weeks of using the Rumblepad 2, I could never go back -- cordless is the way to go.
The gamepad works flawlessly with almost every game I've tried it with. I got it primarily for racing and sports games: Flatout, Flatout 2, the Need for Speed series, Grid, Crashday, etc. Works well with most sports games, except for the rumble feedback. Anyone who uses a gamepad to play first-person shooters on a PC, however, should stick with their consoles. FPS are meant to be played with mouse/keyboard - period.
I really like the Logitech software that lets you program the Rumblepad 2 to work with almost any game, especially those without native joystick support.
Absolutely no problems or complaints so far! No latency or range issues. The pad itself is ROCK SOLID and feels great in my hands. Can play long and hard without discomfort. For price and performance, you can't beat this! Way to go Logitech!
