I've been using this mouse for nearly 6 months and it undergoes daily usage.
Size And Shape
I forgot that this mouse was even called a "mini" mouse. Sure, it's smaller than the regular-sized mouse that you might use in the office, but the size difference isn't very noticeable. Then again, I have small hands so perhaps someone with much larger hands wouldn't be as comfortable with it. The story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears comes to mind: not too big, not too small, but *just* right.
The shape of this mouse isn't perfect; my hand rests comfortably enough on it but I would have appreciated a bit more contouring than what is offered. I rest my thumb and pinky along the sides, and my three middle fingers rest over the two click-buttons and the scroll wheel.
Born To Run
While the following features might seem like fairly trivial ones to point out, you'll find yourself definitely appreciating them once you're on the road with your laptop.

Having a cordless mouse means you will not need to deal with rolling up a cord every time you pack away your laptop. I love the fact that I can just pop out the connector and stash the mouse away in a little pouch in my laptop bag. Having a cordless mouse also means that you aren't constantly pushing the annoying cord out of the way when you are working with cramped spaces like a small hotel room table or a tiny airplane tray.

Believe it or not, there are some small mice out there that have sacrificed the scroll wheel, presumably for the sake of a smaller form factor. If you're one of those people (like me) who can't even imagine using a mouse without a scroll wheel but needs something that can travel, then this mouse is for you. You shouldn't have to give up performance for portability, right?

Seriously, I don't know why manufacturers even bother with making mice that have roll balls in them. With this mouse, you really don't need to pack a mouse pad. It will work on just about any flat surface. I've used placed my mouse on cloth surfaces (chairs, bed comforter, even the leg of my jeans while sitting) and the mouse's responsiveness is always there.
Power Trip
This mouse takes a single AA battery. If you're taking your laptop on a trip, you won't even need to think about packing a spare battery for your mouse. The packaging says that this mouse's battery life should be around 6 months. I use my laptop every single day, and although the battery I inserted into the mouse didn't last 6 months, it did last a very respectable 4.5 months.
Minor Annoyance
When your mouse is not in use, there is a very shallow notch underneath the mouse itself where the USB receiver can snap onto. While the concept is a good one, as someone pointed out earlier the benefit of always having the receiver with the mouse is canceled out by the fact that the receiver will detach from the underside of the mouse with the lightest of bumps.
This is really just a very minor quibble on my part, though, because I have a specific pouch in which I pack my mouse when I'm traveling. Because of this, my mouse and its receiver are always together anyway.
This Great Little Mouse Is A Must
Overall, I am very pleased with this mouse. Yes, you could make do with just the touchpad that comes with most laptops, but since so many of the apps that much of us use nowadays have cursor-driven interfaces, having a mouse is a must in my opinion.
I've tried corded mice, larger mice, smaller mice, and even a trackball, but this mouse is the one that I'm sticking with. With this mouse I'm not tethered to my machine, I have a mouse that is big enough to fit comfortably in my hand without being so big that traveling with it is problematic, and it works on just about any surface and at a considerable distance from my machine. I'm so pleased with this mouse that I'm planning on buying two more as presents for my mother and sister, since they both own laptops but do not have mice to go with them.
