Customer Review: My Favorite Keyboard

I work all day on the computer and have been using one of these for the last 5 years. My greatest fear is that Logitech will find some reason to discontinue this model. I did stray off the reservation and bought a Connectland 2.4 GHz Wireless Keyboard (Multimedia Hot Keys) and Optical Mouse Combo, Black Color for a second computer. I figured I could save a few bucks and it wouldn't matter because that wasn't my primary machine. I ended up giving that keyboard away and ordering another Logitech EX110. I find this keyboard as comfortable, durable, and responsive as any. I've used it with Windows XP through Windows 7 and several Linux distros. I actually took this keyboard apart to clean it because I didn't fully trust the claim it was water resistant. There is absolutely no way liquid can get into the keyboard unless you immerse it in water. I held the typing surface (disassembled) under a faucet and it didn't leak. If your keyboard gets dirty you're not going to ruin it by spraying a cleaner on the keys. There's also no way keys can fly off with normal use as some have claimed. They're well secured to the top panel and interlocked in the water resistance mechanism. Unless you're a disgruntled former Logitech employee or playing with a screwdriver it ain't gonna happen.

Regarding range, it's important not to obstruct the receiving unit and don't place other electronic devices next to it. Your batteries will also last longer if it's unobstructed. Although this works plug 'n play you'll get better battery life and range if you use Logitech's software. It's noticeable on my Linux machine which doesn't have Logitech drivers. It works well enough, but if you use Windows visit Logitech's site and download the latest software. If your computer lacks a PS/2 port and you don't want to tie up a second USB port get a USB to PS/2 Adapter. Then you can plug the whole thing into a single USB port.
