Customer Review: Great Mouse & Keyboard Combo - an upgrade from Comfort Duo

After having the Logitech Comfort Duo (ergo keyboard & optical mouse) for a few years and being very happy with it, I was excited about this upgrade, despite some of the lackluster reviews for this product on Amazon.
The laser mouse is superb- perfectly ergonomic, a useful array of buttons (plus vert/side-scrolling scroll wheel too), and it tracks noticeably more accurate & responsive than the Logitech optical that came with the Comfort Duo. I am using the mouse on a textured (fabric) black mousepad with gel support... I am not sure what the reviewer who had to use the book was encountering. Maybe using the mouse on a glossy surface or something? The mouse works equally well on the laminate surface of my desk, too. I am not sure how the laser technology works, but it amazingly doesn't seem to emit any sort of light as did the optical- I would think it uses less battery power. There is a useful battery indicator light on the mouse that I'm assuming will light when the battery is low.
The keyboard, while the design and functionality are virtually identical to the Comfort Duo keyboard (as another reviewer noted), I happen to like the new rubbery hand rest, and I don't think it gets greasy any more than the old plastic surface on the Comfort Duo handrest. I've been using it for a week and can't really see much of anything- unless I angle it towards the light.
Overall, I gave it 5 stars. 4.5 might have been a little more accurate, because the keyboard is indeed not silent (though no noisier than most, and exactly what I am used to having used the Comfort Duo). I still highly recommend this to anyone looking for wireless freedom, who prefers an ergonomic keyboard and mouse.
