Customer Review: Great value for a Mac-compatible headset or just microphone

Nice product for Mac users, who do not have the option of line-in microphones for Skype, etc. and for whom many bluetooth headsets which work fine on PC's do not work for microphone input.
Just plug it in, go to System Preferences > Sound and select the headset for the input and output devices.
Worked perfectly with Skype, and the sound quality of the microphone recording an audio track in Garage Band was totally fine - more than adequate for doing voice-overs of movies, etc. Headphone audio quality fine.
The cord really is 8' long. Great for desktop users, although Mac desktop users can also use the USB ports on their keyboard as this does not require a powered port. Nice, regardless, as you don't feel like you're on a short leash to your computer.

I looked at all the available headsets with built-in swivel microphones and USB connection. For ease of use this is definitely the way to go for Mac users. The headset is immediately recognized when connected to any usb port and works flawlessly.
I am using this headset only on my iMac desktop so cannot comment on use in a portable environment. I needed a headset with built-in microphone specifically for use with Skype. My connections around the World have said they hear me better than their local calls.
From my end the audio is loud, clear and much better than a standard phone, and the inline volume control is a bonus. I am so pleased I bought this item as opposed to anything else. Comfortable padded ear pieces and adjustment for my small head suit me perfectly.

I use this headset on an iMac to communicate via Ventrillo as I play World of Warcraft.
Bottom line is that it works like a charm!
I can hear everything clearly, and everyone can hear me perfectly. I never told the people on the other side listening to me that I was on a headset, yet all my teammates immediately remarked that I sounded really good. I did a quick A B test with the headset and the built in iMac microphone. Hands down they said the headset was MUCH better.
So no more keybinding to open the mic as I talk. That means more focus on the game!
For those wondering, this does work on the keyboard usb port.
Hopefully, all my teammates will buy one of these so that I can hear them better too!

I recently started using Skype to talk to people internationally. I got this headset because of the convenience of a USB plug. I plugged it in, my computer (using Windows 7) downloaded the appropriate drivers automatically, and I was ready to chat. The ear area is well-cushioned, and the whole thing fits over my head quite comfortably. The sound quality is pretty amazing. That noise-canceling feature seems to work well.
It is light on features, but with a headset, simpler is probably better. Halfway along the USB cable, there is a button to mute and an option to adjust the volume. Simple and efficient. Even though it's pricier than some other options, the comfort, ease of use, and construction make it well worth the cost.

This headphone/mic set has only met or exceeded my expectations. Knowing how expensive the competition is I did not know how well this product would perform, but for the price it is perfect. The sound is clearer than probably most, if not all, standard computer speakers, and is better than other headphones for a smaller or similar, at least in my experience which includes Apple and Sony headphones. The mic is an exceptional improvement over my computer's built in mic with regards to the voice recognition aspect of foreign language software. If you are not looking for the best of the best, just because it is expensive or fully loaded or whatever else, this product will definitely do the trick without setting you back much.
