Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech ClearChat Comfort/USB Headset H390 (Black)Customer Review: Awesome headset, one slight con though Summary: 5 Stars
This headset is awesome. The mere fact that it is a USB headset makes the sound quality much better than regular mic-jack microphones. People I talk to tell me I sound high quality. It rests comfortably on my head and ears, even after long periods of time. I've read other reviews of this same product where people said it started to hurt their ears but I think it just might be the shape of their head because it doesn't bother me at all. The only "con" about this headset is if you have sound speakers hooked up to your computer, you have to open up programs that you want to use the headset with AFTER you plug in the headset. If you open up the program, then plug in the headset, the program sounds come out of your speakers rather then go through your headset. I'm using this on Windows XP SP3 and I also use the headset on a Windows Vista laptop and they both experience the same issue. However it is not a problem with Skype at all. It doesn't matter when I plug in the headphones to the computer, Skype will automatically switch to the headset.
So aside from that, I love this headset, it works great!
Customer Review: Better than most I've had... Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased these headphones a little over a month ago and use them every day. They worked fine right out of the box with no installation... just plug them in a USB port and go.
I have no regrets about purchasing them and am quite please with their clarity, comfort and controls. I use them to edit music and when playing games like Crysis and FarCry 2 and find they work great plus the sounds on the games are directional i.e. if the bad guy makes a noise on the left I hear it in my left ear.
What I would recommend to Logitech for improvements: 1. I would like an on/off switch so when not in use I didn't have to unplug them from the USB port. 2. I would make the microphone arm adjustable in regard to how close to your mouth it is positioned. 3. I would make the fastener on the volume control more user friendly... maybe more like a clothspin versus the plastic slit to slide onto your shirt.
These are minor things, in my opinion, and recommend that for the price you are getting a decent headset.
Customer Review: Stupendous! Summary: 5 Stars
I have now owned this headset for over 6 months. I am a heavy online game player <more than 30hrs per week> and I must say this headset is great! It interphases well with ingame sound systems. Truely comfortable on the ears, sound quality is wonderful! Durability is great! Clumsy as I am, have dropped it at least 10 times if not more on ceramic tile, my 10lb dog has walked on it several times, my 100lb dog has tangled up in the cord and pulled it full force <on the USB connection> 3 times :ps, large dog no longer allowed in computer room: and it is still working without a problem! The only fault I can find if you can consider it as that, is I sometimes sit on the volume control and mute myself or turn sound down, but think walking 2 miles a day may help that some <reduce butt volumn heheh>. I have gone thru 4 different headsets before purchasing this one. Paid well over $100 for one of them and normally over $60 for the others. This one surpasses them all!
Customer Review: Great Product Summary: 5 Stars
I've always needed a great headset with great quality. Well I finally got one. For the past year I've been buying really bad headsets until I decided upon this to purchase it. The sound quality is amazing. It sound almost as surround sound. The microphone is great to, but it does feel a bit plastic, almost like it would just snap, and when you try to pull the mic down,it gets hung because it's not fully snapped in place. It's not a big problem, and it might just be mine, so no worries on that. The comfort is A-Ok, but it does start to hurt your ears after wearing it for 3-4 hours straight. I even wear my toboggan when wearing the headset and it still hurts my ears. I think it's just the pressure it puts on them. It's a plug and play device so it should work right when you plug it in. I had mine working on Windows 7 in a matter of seconds. With all that said, I think this is a great item to purchase if you're looking for a good sounding headset for a great price.
Customer Review: Excellent headset Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this headset several months ago to use for watching movies, and internet gaming and have been very happy with it.
They fit comfortably, and I find that they do not hurt my ears as some other headsets do, even after hours of continuous use (I have a rather large head so I sometimes have issues with headsets fitting well).
The unit is solidly constructed and even with a lot of plugging/unplugging, swinging the mic arm down and back up, and coiling up the cord for storage, the headset shows no signs of wear and tear.
I use it on 2 different Windows XP computers and setup was very easy, just plug in and go. One thing to note however is that it seems some applications will need to be started up after the headset is attached or they will continue to send sound to the speakers. I didn't dock any points for this, because I believe it is just how windows handles USB headsets but it may be an issue for some.
