Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Logitech ClearChat Comfort/USB Headset H390 (Black)

Customer Review: Great all-around headset.
Summary: 5 Stars

The hardware: 4/5, flimsy, very plastic-like. I treat mine very well (no throwing them or anything like that), and they've lasted about a year now. The paint on the volume control module is starting to wear off, as this is a common problem with Logitech electronics. The module itself has controls for the volume up and down, as well as a button to immediately mute the microphone. The module is approximately 2 feet down on the cord from the headset, and has a clip so you can fix it to your pants pocket or shirt to prevent wiggling. The cord is very long, and although I haven't measured, mine is about 6 to 7 feet.

The software: 5/5, it's plug and play. What more is there to mention? Just plugged it and it worked on both my Mac and my PC.

The audio: 4/5, while not anything spectacular, this headset delivers bubbly bass and tweety treble. Gaming with this is nothing short of a dream, as it handles far away and close-combat sounds perfectly in just about any genre. But not an audiophile myself, I'm not one to do in-depth reviews when it comes to sound.

The microphone: 5/5, absolutely the best microphone from a headset that I've seen. The sound is absolutely wonderful, detecting both low and high voices. I was stunned when I tried this microphone.

Overall: 5/5, if you're looking for a great all-around headset, this one is top-notch.

Customer Review: Good quality for the price
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this headphone/microphone combo for use with my home VoIP setup. I've used it for hours at a time without it hurting my head or ears.

Pros:
+ The sound quality is good - definitely superior to the cheap cordless phones I had been using
+ The ear pieces are well-padded and swivel to avoid putting excessive pressure on one part of the ear
+ The band that rests on top of your head is padded as well
+ The mic arm seems sturdy unlike some others that I was afraid of breaking

Cons:

My only real complaint is that the ear pieces sit on my ears instead of surrounding them. I find the around-ear models to be more comfortable. But that's probably too much to expect for the price of this unit.

Other notes:

This is a USB device. It doesn't work through your existing speakers or sound card. Rather, it is treated as a separate sound device. I like this because I can adjust volume and other settings of the headset independent of my sound card (the right volume for talking on the headset isn't necessarily the right volume for listening to music, for example).

This isn't a high-end piece of audio equipment. But for every day personal use I think it's a good buy and I would recommend it to others.

Customer Review: Love this set.
Summary: 5 Stars

Well I've had way to many headsets over the past xx years and this is probably top notch. I don't like paying a ton of money for a headset. Example Bose etc. So this was a very nice choice, I noticed that a few people have said their tight on their ears, which for me it doesn't seem to be the case. I've had some of the wrap around the back of your head types of headsets that were much tighter on my huge head than these are, I can wear these all day, only downfall is the ears get warm after a few hours but in winter time its a nice thing ^^. The drivers <speakers> are pretty good sounding, more than I expected for your basic set. Yes if you switch between your desktop/laptop speakers to the Headset or vice versa you should restart the program, example of this is ventrilo, teamspeak, winamp, windowsmedia player, and most of your games that you use the sound in. Ive had this headset for 4 months now and had no problems with the usb connector. The mic is super clear for skype or any other voice chat system you can think of. For the RPG games I play the other players can hear me clearly. The inline mic mute and volume control is nice, I do think the clip could be more adjustable. But overall if your looking for a pretty nice headset on a budget pick yourself up a pair.

Customer Review: Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB Headset
Summary: 5 Stars

This headset is great. I've been using it for 2 months now and it still works flawlessly. The quality of the mic is as good, if not better, than my $122 audio-technica AT2020USB Condenser Mic! It's hard to believe a headset mic is that good, but it is! For 30 dollars this is a steal. I use it for my pc and ps3 and it works perfectly on both. My previous headset hurt my ears when I used it hours at a time, this one doesn't bother my ears half as much. I record music vocals with this headset mic and the quality is superb, not too bassy, just perfect! Just try not to touch or tap your headset while recording or it will record the tap. Now I wish I never bought that AT2020. And the quality of the sound from the headphones are just as good as any other set of headphones I have had and better than my i-pod headphones because I can hear better bass and treble levels from this headset. The fact that it surrounds your ears helps with killing background noise as well. And since it is usb means there is no weird hissing or beep feedback noise coming from my pc while recording which is why I decided to buy this usb headset. Bottom line - I love this headset

Customer Review: Headset and MIC by Logitech is Extremely High Quality and Value
Summary: 5 Stars

BOSE - move over, I'm heading for the bank with the money I saved. The USB headset and MIC from Logitech is PERFECT for Skype, webcasts and any other audio from the computer. A headset was important to me to BOOST VOLUME from my Streets and Trips software (very low in a car). Many more benefits include keeping ur conversation private (all the sound comes into the headset). Also the MIC is great always at the same distance from your voice and clear on the other end (the person ur calling). My other MIC - a 3.5 mm jack type was in the way and I kept moving from my ASUS Netbook so the conversation had problems both ways. Quality is built into a rugged frame, earphones that keeps the sound in (earmuffs) and a flip-MIC that tucks away when not needed. Skype calls - watching/hearing videos in private are the best uses. You MUST configure your SETTINGS in the TOOLS menue of Skype. It is recognizable by your computer upon inserting the USB connector and like most/all USB is hot-swappable so have no fear to plug it in while your computer is on. I don't know if ur stateallows for wearing the headset in a car to listen to music, but it would be perfect.
