I bought this headset for online gaming. The price was its best appeal. When I got it home I was disappointed to find out that it wasn't adjustable. I have a small head so this thing is HUGE on me, but otherwise it is relatively comfortable. I've never worn any behind the head headsets before so it took some getting used to. The audio quality of the headphones is really great and I like having the voulme control within easy reach.
It was when I started trying to use the mic that I ran into problems. When I tested it it seemed like the mic was only picking up VERY loud noises, with quite a lot of static. I did some research, tweaked my volume settings and read the lower reviews in despair. But the mix of great reviews and terrible reviews puzzled me. Some people said it didn't work, others said the mic had GREAT quality. I was perplexed until I ran over a review mentioning the switch that MUTES THE MIC.... I looked down and boy did I feel dumb. I flipped the switch, did another test and VOILA! Great sound quality from the mic.
Let that be a lesson to you. If you are having issues with the microphone, first check to make sure it ISN'T muted, then go to the options panel of your volume control and make sure the mic is set at a reasonable level.

It works great, sound is good and microphone functional. I also like that you can adjust the sound from the cord; and I found the long cord quite convenient. My only problem is that the headset part is not adjustable. It is quite big and won't stay in place. two colleagues bought this item and so I needed one and I am very pleased with it. I can just keep the microphone plugged in when I don't use it and hear it ring without having the whole thing on my head. This is a great headset, excellent for online chatting, voice-over-IP, and especially gaming. The volume control and microphone switch on the wire come in handy often. It's a good quality piece of technology, and the replaceable color panels on the side make for good customization. Highly recommended.
