Ok, this showed up on the Gold Box deal one day so I grabbed it. After it arrived I spent some time playing with it and am absolutely amazed at the
overall quality of the pen which was a big relief since spending so much for a pen worried me. Once I got familiar with the features I realized as
much as I was enjoying it I knew this was the ultimate thing for a college student so I gave it to my nephew as he is just about to start his Freshmen
year and let me tell you, the way his face lit up ..well I woulda paid alot more just for that reaction. His major is music (wants to be a music teacher :)
and so the extra features the pen offers (like drawing the piano keyboard then actually being able to play it) just put it over the top as the coolest
gift ever (which now makes me the coolest Uncle ever!)

The pen does what is promised of it. For those in the business world, I think it's a great tool.
Ever go to a meeting, take notes and can't decipher what you wrote? A quick double tap of the pen will take you right back to that part of the meeting and you can play back what transpired.
This is really an amazing item. The only drawback I have is that the microphone is so sensitive it actually picks up me writing -- this may be because of the way I hold the pen (I'm a lefty).
I travel a lot and before when I wrote notes they would get back to my office all crumpled and beaten up -- with the pen, the note pages are exactly as I wrote them and I can upload them to a free hosting site so I always have access to my notes no matter where I am.

This pen is marvelous. I've had it a month now, and it's saved me several times.
PROS- I take notes at large meetings, and I'm able to recall what someone said as I try to create action items. It has prevented me from having to track someone down to ask what they said...or to admit I don't know what I meant whenI wrote something down. My notes are more useful. Great battery life and capacity (I just have the 1GB, and have taken notes in several multi-hour meetings and I've used up about 100MB).
CONS-Minor, really. The only thing I recommend is something so the pen doesn't roll around on the desk so much. When I set it down, it can fly right off the table. And the mic does pick up the writng sometimes, so I have to write 'lightly' or I hear scratching.

I an a secretary and often record meeting minutes. This wonderful tool has made that job a million times easier. The only bad thing I can say is that the software that allows you to turn your hand written notes into editable text that can be exported is an add on that costs an additional $29.95 and is available on the LiveScribe web site. Without this piece, this tool would be more or less useless to me as I would not distribute my handwritten notes as official minutes. Therefore, I would wind up transcribing my notes, which I could just as easily do from a regular notebook without the smart pen. Otherwise, if you're taking notes that you want to save to your PC and email or otherwise share with others and you and they don't care that they're hand written, this pen is awesome!Customer Review: Cool gadget! I am a gadget freak and I own many many gadgets. This is the one of the three gadgets I carry every day - Kindle, Smart Pen, iPod. I got it from the Java One Conference before it released to the market. I wish I had it when I were in school, it would have been so handy! Now I use it for my project ideas. I always have some new ideas to make stuff but I was too lazy to write them down, and most of the time I forget my ideas later. This smart pen is so cool that I am willing to take the time and effort writing my ideas and designs.
I lose excitements and interests to my new toys really quick. But this is an exception. It has been over a year and I am still excited about it. Cool gadget! Revolutionary!
