I love my Pulse Pen, and consider it a killer app in my collection. The Pulse Pen is your safety net for capturing information, while your brain switches between listening, taking notes, and thinking about what is being said. Nothing missed!
The provided software is young in its development, so there is room for it to mature and be refined, yet is currently completely acceptable. I does what you need it to do, does it well, and is easy to use.
The Pulse Pen is a new product with tremendous potential. I have used other digital pen systems before, and Live Scribe has done it the best. Great set of features and capabilities at very reasonable prices.
I am a Windows Vista user - No issues, on this front.
Live Scribe support is good, and staff that I have worked with are very helpful and pleasent to work with. No problems - a couple of questions, and suggestions for the software (wish list).
I am a business person and I use the 1 Gig version. Plently of storage. However, if I were a student, I would recommend the 2 Gig version. I wish I had this pen when I was in school. Would have been fantastic.
I highly recommend the Pulse Pen.

I don't take the time to do reviews, in fact this is my first. I will say in short, this device is wonderful. I'm a project manager needing to document complex discussions with highly energized type-A people. The pen does the job that used to take a tape recorder. It is small, not as intimadating as a recorder, and works great. The playback options are more than I could have hoped for in a mini recorder/pen combo. I've had it for six months and it is holding up well after daily, sometimes full day user. The only qualm is that the clock on the pen needs to be synchronized or reset periodically.
The software is fine. The accessories are affordable and now available at Target and probably other outlets. I would recommend the device to anyone needing to take notes. It works well. It captures every word.
One Year Later:
The pen is still working fine. The mfg sends updates regularly. BUT The clock still does not keep time very well. Why can't the fix this one glaring issue. I still highly recommend the product even though you need to reset the clock about once every 7-10 days or so.

My husband is a software and product developer and developed a related technology. He was very enthusiastic about this product. I am an academic and a great user of technology but know little about software. Even with all my exposure I was only mildly interested in trying it out. Wow, was I amazed at its usefulness. I interviewed a professor via skype for a book I am working on. Before that I was trying to figure out the best way to record the interview - garage band was how I was going to do it. Then came the Pen! Now I can review my notes, touch the paper and hear what the professor said. It is the EASIEST and BEST way I can imagine to record, take and review notes, lectures or conversations. I can't imagine using anything else. i would guess that anyone who would try it would not go back to the "old" way to record. Definitely a great product. The developers definitely need to support the many different kinds of software development that can be used for the product.Customer Review: Don't listen to the nay-sayers- it's great!

I've read a few of the negative reviews, and they all seem to find the Livescribe software to be of issue. I use Windows XP, and I haven't had the first problem. I use mine for college, I'm 49 and going back to school after so many years, this has really helped me keep up with all the lectures and notes. It works wonderfully. The recordings are clear, playback is easy, and I sync all my notes to my computer with no problems. The only negative I have of the pen is it is a little large, but, not so much that it is uncomfortable to write with, and for the size, the weight is very light.
To the reviewer who said his ink ran out after a week, I'm still using the original cartridge and have written over 35 pages of notes, in a 5 week period, so he may have gotten a bad cartridge.
I only paid a little over $100 for mine, I got it on sale at Target. I would absolutely buy it again, and I recommend it to everyone that asks me about it.

I have been using this pen to take class notes for my doctoral studies.
This has been a life saver. All the discussions that we do in class- nothing is ever lost. I can re-listen to them all whenever needed. Since I know I have such a device with me, I can focus on understanding the class discussions instead on rushing for jotting down notes. For comprehensive discussions, I do not even refer to any textbook at all. The recording quality is great! I always sit in one of the front rows. So I cannot comment on distant recording. Several of my classmates also use the same device. With the proprietary online sharing software, we can send recorded class note and accompanied audio to others, in case any of us miss class. The class notes can be converted in PDF for future reference or printing. The pen is kind of thick though; make it writing with it a little uncomfortable.
