Having adopted the smartpen for much of my work notes, I started with the notebook that comes with it.
It's a bit big at 8.5" X 11" so I followed up with one of the smaller notebooks.
However at that time I had some personal items that needed to be tracked, some planning and notes and my purse had various little notebooks shoved into it and that just was not working.
So I thought what the heck, I would try this same tool for home stuff.
This little book has a lot of things going for it.
SIZE IS JUST RIGHT FOR A PURSE
Okay guys I know this does not include you, but I'm sure you can try out the front pocket at the store.
This little book slid nicely inside my medium (not cavernous) purse.
CLASP PROTECTS THE PAGES, WHEN SHOVED INTO A PURSE
This is essential as sometimes you quickly write and then plop the thing into your purse
MAGNET LATCH MAKES SURE IT CLOSES WELL
While the latch is not like the old diary key locks it pops the flap over and you have a nice neat package.
However might want to keep the magnet away from your credit cards. While I know a very strong magnet (think of those ceramic industrial ones) will wipe a card, I'm not sure what this lighter one will do.
STRING KEEPS YOUR PLACE
How often have you started writing and realized you skipped a bunch of pages or wanted to find something quick. This little red string keeps your spot. Hand especially for such a smaller notebook.
PRICE IS COMPARABLE TO SAME SIZE JOURNALS OF THIS QUALITY
At first I thought this was pricey, but when I was perusing journals in a mortar and brick story this weekend, this price is inline.
COOL LITTLE BACK POCKET
Inside this little gem is a pocket for stowing receipts and such, like for a business trip. I'm not sure how much can be stored here however, since you are limited to the binding thickness by the clasp. Large folded up bits of paper won't fit here.
One negative aspect, that is not so much this book, is regarding the software. If this is a book for personal usage, you might want to put it on a separate computer from your work notes. At this time you are limited to linking to one computer per pen. Maybe in the future this will be resolved.
Due to the cost of the pens, most people will not own two. Even if they did own two, it might be tricky to use the right one.
Also one note, not an issue but not anticipated, when you do link this book to your computer, the page fills the same space as your 8.5" X 11" starter notebook, so your handwriting looks huge. This is not a problem, but it was a surprise.
One wonder I had was, how am I going to tell the use of a subsequent books as these are not numbered? At this size I'm likely to use several. I'm assuming the software will resolve it like Windows does and put a number after the name.
All and All for me an enjoyable product.
