Customer Review: Great for Making Sykpe Calls without a Computer

I just received the phone and it works as expected. I like the fact I don't need a computer to make calls on Skype. I upgraded the software to the latest version. There are only two issues I could find with it. One, I don't think you can use the phone to make conference calls with Skype. Two, it does not support multilingual characters. I have names in my contact list in Japanese, but it does not display the characters. Other than that, I think it is a good product.Customer Review: OK but . . .

This phone is ok. Easy to set up. Connect to Internet a little harder. Syncs up quickly when at the same hotspot. Some desired choices are on screens which are buried several clicks deep. Keep on digging. Be sure to do the firmware upgrade. It helps immensely.
However. Terrible battery life. Terrible battery life.
I use this phone almost daily and if I can keep it charged it is enjoyable and reasonably practical.

It probably only took me 10 minutes before I was making Skype, Skype-in, and Skype out calls. Network recognition and setup couldn't have been simpler. I'm guessing that Skype design has a lot to do with simplicity of this so I won't give all the credit to Linksys (I've checked other manuals and the all have pretty much the same features and menus). The only downside is that this phone doesn't have a charging base.Customer Review: Suprisingly small and light, but slow startup and no AES

The manual just says "WPA". I had to call tech support to find out it only supports WPA-PSK TKIP only, NOT WPA-PSK AES.
The startup time each time you turn it on is a bit painful.
The sound quality is not as good as Skype on a computer, but is acceptable.
The headset jack on mine is defective, no microphone sound, so I'm sending it back for an exchange.

Product works well enough to give up my Vonage service. It would be nice to have a clip for attaching this phone to a pocket or belt. I purchased an adaptor (XDA 2.5mm STD Mono Headset Adapter $12.50) from PocketPCTechs to be able to use my standard headsets. Battery life isn't great for just having the phone sit idle but if it is kept charged, it is good for a couple hours talk time.
