I always worry about online purchases of this kind. I'm dependent on personal reviews of this kind to tell me if a product is going work as advertised. So first things first, yes, this adapter works and yes, it works well. The adapter is connected via a Cisco-Linksys E3000 for the router and the Cisco-Linksys WMP600N being reviewed as the adapter. Cisco is the 800lb gorilla in the room so they have the money to develop, test and verify their products against other manufacture products the router and adapters are going be used in conjunction with.
The adapter is easy to install, easy to configure and the software is self-loading: you don't have to think. This is good.
The router is in another room of the house, about thirty feet away (two to four sheetrock walls worth, depending on how you count the signal travel through walls, halls and closets) and I usually get four (sometimes three) out of five bars worth of reception. The router is connected to a Comcast modem and we're being charged for 12Mbits (not bytes) of download speed. Two laptops and a desktop are connected to the router. This adapter is installed in an under-desk, desktop unit using Win 7/64.
I highly recommend this combination of router and adapter for security encryption purposes, ease of installation, the ability to easily add an additional user as well as dependability of signal reception.
I've used this router for approximately four weeks and it's worked "flawlessly." Money well spent.
