Read all the reviews and wasn't convinced it was the best because of the bad reviews.
So glad I did as it turned out to be the best I've ever owned.
I have Windows 7 Professional installed and it set it up automatically without the product's installation disk.
It is recommended to install without the product's installation disk. Just insert the card and let Windows take care of the rest.
This was installed on my old IBM T-31 laptop. I'm using the 5GHz band with my Belkin Sport Dual Band router. I would recommend this router also for it's value and features compared to similar NetGear or Linksys products.
Yes, the Belkin Sport had some connectivity issues, but after a recent firmware update it's has completely turned around. I am getting sometimes 30+Mbps, and averaging 20+. Plus I like that it has a USB on the back (the new ones have two now) which is nice to attach a USB stick or USB external harddrive for shared backup or file sharing. I was shocked and had no idea our Cox cable modem service was that fast here in San Diego, CA. This wi-fi adapter is awesome. Plus it does not stick out very much at all.
