Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Cisco-Linksys WGA54G Wireless-G Gaming AdapterCustomer Review: Worked out of the box, as promised Summary: 5 Stars
Originally I was using a Wet 11 connected to my Xbox on a Linksys 802.11b network. The configuration of the Wet 11 was difficult but eventually I got everything working. After upgrading my wireless network to 802.11g, even after a great deal of effort I was never able to get my Wet 11 / Xbox connected again. I bought this WGA54G game adapter, and as promised, it worked right out of the box (well, you still have to configure it from a PC initially). Most pleasing.
Customer Review: Used on a DirecTV DVR HR20 Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this device to use on my DirecTV HD DVR HR20. It worked flawlessly. I set the device up using my desktop computer (like the instructions directed me to do) and then connected the device to the USB port of the DVR. The DVR recognized the unit and it has been working ever since. The setup was really easy, and it will also work with the XBOX or pretty much any device that needs access to a wireless network. I have been happy with the device thus far.
Customer Review: simpleton' luck Summary: 5 Stars
Plugged it into my replay 5500 without programming it at all.
plugged wireless linksys adapter into my existing linksys befsr 8 whatever and configured again.. nothing ! Everything works great for monthe including program guide , streaming video between multiple replays . viewing other units program guides and tying into my pcs on net , remote DV software and photos no problem . Some deity obviously takes care of lazy BSEE's like me . YMMV
Customer Review: WGA54G is useful for X-BOX Summary: 5 Stars
WGA54G is easy to connect to your wireless AP or router. Just switch your button to INFRASTRUCTURE mode, and it will connect to your AP automatically. Also you can use setupwizard from PC to setup your WGA54G.If you want to play peer-to-peer between your X-BOXs. Just switch your button to AD-HOC mode. And then everything is ok. Even you can use WGA54G like ethernet bridge. It's more cheap instead of WET54G. For your information.
Customer Review: Not just for gaming Summary: 5 Stars
Awesome ethernet bridge. Simple set-up using hard wire ethernet to router and main PC. Take it to your remote PC, in my case one upstairs that does not have ethernet capability, and plug it into the PC's ethernet card and bingo, on line with high-speed wireless. That simple. Linksys markets a wireless G ethernet bridge seperately for more $$$ but don't be fooled. This work just the same, has a smaller footprint and costs less.
