I think Amazon ran out of the old hardware revs already :-). In any case I got version 3 and it works great. It's been working perfectly since I got it last month. I'm using it to connect to my Linksys WRT54G using WPA2-PSK/AES encryption. IMO, the best way is to set it up using static IP. Using DHCP will make things more complicated because you'd have to figure out the IP address of the bridge. I also found that setting it up manually using the web interface made more sense than using the setup CD, but both work fine. The bridge's default IP is 192.168.1.226 and the username/password is admin/admin. You may have to adjust your network settings to initially setup the bridge.

I bought this when I moved into my basement apartment to avoid having to run ethernet cable from one side of the 3 bedroom ranch to the other side of the house. So far I am very please with the performance of the bridge. I normally get over a connection rate over 90%, which is normally higher and more stable than the wireless PCI card in my Mac G4 Tower. The setup was a little troublesome as the booklet they include is next to useless, but there are some very simplistic directions to be found online. Currently the device is attached to an Xbox360 for online gaming and I am very happy with the results and performance over-all.Customer Review: Works great.

The first thing you need to do is upgrade the firmware with the latest version available in the linksys web site.I have it connected with a Kiss DP-500 player's ethernet adapter, and it can play divx and mpeg movies across the wireless network (video files are located in my PC's hard disk, this PC is connected to the switch by 100 Mbps ethernet) with no problems.
By the way, my wet54g is placed about 12 meters away from my wrt54g gateway, with 2 walls in between.
The one important thing that is missing in this product is WPA security. Hopefully Linksys with release another firmware with support for it.

I bought this unit to replace my Linksys WET11. I was using the WET11 for my ReplayTV, but was converting all of my wireless network over to Wireless-G Only. Just so you know, I never use the CD that comes with these things. I just plug it in and view my router admin page to see what IP it gets (provided you are using DHCP). Then open a browser and type in the IP assigned to it. I have found this to be the easiest and quickest way to configure these. It takes about 30 seconds total. I am very happy with the WET54G - it works great with my ReplayTV, so if you have a ReplavyTV or a TIVO it should work fine.Customer Review: A awesome wireless-G bridge

First let me just say read the manual. Better yet visit the Linksys support site and read the instructions for web browser based setup. This is easy to setup and works great with my Linksys WRT54GS V.6
I set this up months ago when I purchased it and it has worked flawlessly since. I have it connected to my DIRECTV HR20-100 HDDVR for "On demand" download use.
Even when the power goes out this thing springs right back to life (we were without electric for over a week due to the ice storm here in Oklahoma) as soon as power is restored. I would not trade it for anything.
